Reproduction is not a nasty word. Although, personally, I like the real old stuff, some people want the look of the old stuff, but want it new. Some of the sellers may not realize it is not the real mccoy. (I know, the glass is half full)I sell a lot of glass and pottery and have learned about reproductions the expensive way. I'm a lot smarter now, but not until I studied the pieces, looked through reference books and compared. Some of the reproductions are so good you can hardly tell the difference and some like Roseville stand out like a sore thumb. I should have known, but I bid on a beautiful Nippon coffee pot. Even though it had the stamp, it was missing something and I should have gotten the clue, but I didn't. The only consolation was that I didn't pay that much for it and I can still sell it, as it is a beautiful piece and that some of the other people paid a lot more than I did. There are different strokes for different folks and I believe there is room for everyone.
