Them there irresponsible gif people got no respect for people's browsers. We're not even safe in our own homes!
It's the yellow menace, I tell ya!
Us plain folk gotta stick together and deal with the giffers before it's too late.

I don't like the animated gifs that are posted here. My least favorite is the jumping blue thing. It jumps about an inch from the top to the bottom. Sometimes, instead of using words, posters just insert that gif. When they do this, I wonder if they're in agreement or oppose the last comment, or the whole topic of the thread. Or are they just bored, or could it be that they have no ability to add meaniful comments to the topic?

posted on December 8, 2000 04:22:16 AM newsnowyegret, you mentioned your daughters scooter. Are you aware that 2 companies have posted recalls of scooters? Here's the url:
As far as the animated gifs go, it's the side to side ones that really bug my eyes. The one that started this thread, the german shepherd dog one is a real problem. I'm gonna have to ignore the poster if they continue to use it. I can't read anything on the screen if that gif is in view.
I know hitting the ESC button will usually stop them, but to have to do that over and over on each thread gets old. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't used each time the member posts. BTW, ani gifs on auctions cause my back button to be pressed automatically.

Reddeer: I don't like the gifs on the threads either. But people are going to do what they are going to do...My solution is to turn off images when I try to read the threads. If there is something I want to see I open the image.
As for the cartoons the only show worth watching was Rocky and Bullwinkle and you are much too young to remember the original show.

Smw ..... I used to live across from Detroit, and on ch 50, not only did I watch Rocky & Bullwinkle, I also watched Have Gun Will Travel, Rawhide, and the old Superman shows.
My older brother forced me to watch the cartoon.
BTW - My email server took a serious hit last week, just got your email this morning & responded. Sorry for the delay!

Oh and I thought I would also add for Virakech...
No Baseball caps--yeach!
my wedding band--plain gold--unless I am going out somewhere and then I add my diamond...
1 pair of earrings...
No tatoos, no ankle bracelets, no fingernail jewelry
Used to wear my Seiko watch, but my son decided for my birthday in Nov. that I needed a "good" watch, so I now wear a Fossil (yeah, he was trying to tell me something. )
If I wear a necklace, it is either a gold or silver herringbone chain--22-24 inches...
Nothing on the rearview mirror--oh wait! I lied, there is a parking permit sticker for a parking lot that my husband uses from time to time on the back of the mirror. It's small--does that count?
The only fob on my keychain is my remote lock/unlock doohickey
My underwear are not up for discussion
And ya got me on the sweatshirt! I have several sweatshirts with labs or from the Big Dog store.
But I do LOVE these little smilies! Yippeeeee.....

HI REDDEER
I CONFESS I am the doggie person!
Sorry you don't like my "fur babies" but considering all of the ugly faces, angels, critters from outer space, some type of ugly doll head, I think doggies are much nicer.
The "rat" that chases the Shepherd back and forth is a German Schnauzer (or as close as I can fine to such).
Basically, the German Shepherd, and the German Schnauzer is a portrait of my house - as we have 2 German Shepherds, 2 German Schnauzers. 2 Wander the house in their Regal Shepherdness, and 2 fly around like hell on wheels in their playful Schnauzerness!
I can't believe 2 precious doggies could possibly be so upsetting in the light of all the smiley faces, and the other variety of creatures/critters/people/items, etc.!

It's the animation of the 2 that's annoying, but hey, to each their own, I'll simply use the ignore function from here on in.

Personally I like them here and on Auctions. I think they are fun, and when I use the computer I like to have FUN!
But that is just my opinion. (I know it probably doesn't count.)
