There have been several threads discussing who *should* leave feedback first- buyer or seller. I think it would be interesting to see what the actual percentage totals given vs. received are, buyers and sellers.

My totals:

As a seller- 775 given, 584 received... 75%
As a buyer- 83 given, 81 received... 98%

In my experience, the sellers appear to be doing a better job of leaving feedback than the buyers.

i have been strictly a buyer. i have purchased over 500 items on ebay. i have left feedback for virtually every seller. even though i have paid for every auction immediately i have less than 300 feedbacks.

Boy, this is depressing! For a seller who is trying to get her feedbacks up, I have left 269 feedbacks, and have 145 feedbacks in return. Oh well, nonetheless, I still leave feedbacks after payment clears as a seller.

I have left 308 total & received 258 total.

Not too bad. But I agree that sellers are better about leaving feedback than buyers. I always do either way.

I've left 1,278. Received 1,038 with 813 unique. I almost always get feedback from my buyers, I always tell them I left them feedback when I send them a message that their package was mailed and then I also enclose a note with their purchase thanking them for bidding and that I had left them feedback. I never ask for it in return, I think these are gentle reminders about feedback which I think is working so far.

Okay, now I'm really feeling depressed. My ratio has got to be the worst here.

What am I doing wrong? I don't believe in holding my feedback until my buyer does. As a gesture of thanks, I always leave a feedback at shipment. An invoice is enclosed with a business card thanking them for the purchase and it states right on the invoice "I hope you are happy with your purchase and if you are I would appreciate you saying so in my feedback!" (a general eBud tagline).

I have good products, excellent service & response time, 100% customer satisfaction (no neutrals or negatives). 269 left; 179 received - 145 unique).

Well I left 317 feedbacks, and have received 254 with 209 being from unique users. Most of the stuff I sold, people has left feedback for me, it is the sellers that don't leave the feedback in my case.

Left 5232, received 3131.

59.9% return.

Yikes, mine looks like the lowest ratio here! I do think that people selling high end stuff end up with a higher ratio. The more bidders pay, the more they love the stuff.

PS. I've got 3 negs, 26 neutrals [16 from users no longer registered].

if everybody is leaving more than they are getting something is not right with the math. unless for some reason those posting here are simply more thoughtful than the general internet auction public. BB5365- if you set up "MY EBAY" there will be a link to all your given feedback.

Morgantown,

Thank you, I did not know this could be done. As a Buyer only, Im shocked at how many I have left "188" and only received "115" in return, "83" are Pos. no Neg. or Neutrals.

I just found a seller that does not leave any feedback to the buyers file, but after you leave him a Pos. feedback in his file, he posts a response to what you left In his feedback file. How does That help the buyer??????

I've left 1778, and received 1229, 943 are from unique users. I have 4 neutrals and two negative so my standing is at 941.

In 26 months i've left 18 negatives and 0 neutrals.

I've received 38 positives in the past week and 144 in the past month. The 144 shows the brisk Christmas sales I've had this year.

I always leave feedback the day payment is received and send an item shipped email that the merchandise is on the way and that positive feedback has been left. In the email I state that if they are happy with their merchandise to please leave positive feedback for me.

That's all I do. I put nothing in the package and I never ask for feedback again. If they leave feedback fine, if they don't that's fine also for I feel i've done my part.

Rampage,

Don't get me wrong, I did not ask for a feedback. When I buy something and the item gets to me, I leave Pos. feedback send a quick note letting the seller know that the item arrived and feedback has been posted to there account, nothing more. My complaint is that if the seller is going to take the time to leave a reply to my Pos in his account, under what I said, what good is that to me the buyer. How does that increase my Pos. feedback?????

Big Bob

I wasn't shooting at anyone. I was just relating how I do things in relation to feedback.

In the case you are stating there is no benefit to you at all and in fact is more troublesome to do than leave feedback.

In over two years I haven't used the response line more than 10 times. It's of little use to me except to respond to negatives.

I like to get the pat on the back positive feedback as much as the nest person, but if the buyer don't have time or don want to take the time to leave feedback I let it go at that. Eventually, over time the feedback comes.

When I hit the red star I will have my last star. I'll never live long enough to see a shooting star. In fact I don't think I could stand eBay selling that long. At the rate i'm going it would take another 18 years!!! LOL

I have one seller account and two buyer accounts. As soon as I build the feedback in one of the buyer accounts I will use that for selling also and keep the other account strictly for buying.

Seller Account - received 243, left 301. I hope to receive 20 more feedbacks once the buyers receive their packages.

Buyer Account 1 - received 9, left 12.

Buyer Account 2 - received 13, left 17.
