The Rove machine was ready and able to blast him out of the water without need to purchase gas, spin a propeller or even put the boat in gear. The fact that Edwards underestimated the probable effect of his extramarital affair was a major political blunder.
Now the same right wing machine is characterizing McCain's similar indiscretion as a reaction to the fact that he was captured and tortured by the Vietnamese. Unfortunately, there are people in America who will buy this tale, the same people who believe that those who love more than one man or woman at a time are sinners.

The McCain entourage is alighting as we speak at the Sedona AZ Hilton resort. Bet they're strategizing their veep selection too.

profe: I'm surprised McCain isn't staying at his ranch there; it's only a half mile from my brother's ranch, which suits both families fine. I guess his entourage could stay at the Hilton and he could stay (closely guarded, of course) at his own place. . . .

I have a relative who works at the Hilton up there, she claims they have 20 odd rooms booked but doesn't know if the candidate himself will be staying in the hotel or at his Cornville home. I always have to laugh when I hear about his "Sedona Ranch". It isn't in Sedona and 6 acres hardly makes a ranch
I do a lot of horse trading in the Verde Valley. Interesting to hear your brother lives there. Is he a horseman?
