Cdnbooks...but if the general concensus of the AW posters is that Poster A's post are of no value, does AW get no final value fee?
(they certainly don't want me to sign up for that program....my posts will generate no final value fee LOL)

Ok, I am a bit late back from work, and so have been delayed in replying.
It is normally perfectly ok to be able to discuss auctions in general, but... BUT....
if you have an AW ID that is the same as your Ebay ID or....
if your posts come under the scrutiny of AW super-sleuths....
the auction you are discussing is going to be uncovered pretty quickly.
When your auction is identified, it appears that the thread will be LOCKED. No appeals, no inviting the seller/bidder... ZAPPED.
That is what sucks about this policy change. It has gone from "invite the seller/bidder" to "post the link but don't discuss the individuals involved" (and how you can separate out discussing say, misleading auction listings and the motivations behind them?) to not being able to post anything that will enable anyone else to identify the auction under discussion, including your AW ID.
This is a serious impediment to discussion, I believe. If people here didn't go around demonstrating their fantastic search skills, discussions could go on. But that is not going to be the case. Before when it happened, the originator was asked to invite the person, and after a period, discussion could continue. Now, discussion will be squashed, and those with matching AW/Ebay IDs can forget talking about auctions at all, no matter how generally.
