rancher-

Sure, lots of folks have been around awhile & have accumulated feedbacks from when it was all the rage. But what about the newer sellers & buyers?...

Funny thing is... my 3+ year old id has a feedback received/left percentage of about 65% while my newer id (less than 1 year old)has a 99% total.

ClearAsMud:

The title of the thread is NOT "Anything about Feedback"

The title of this thread has to do with a certain mentality that CHASES feedback---NO MATTER HOW much they already have.

Trouble differentiating between points much?

Perhaps if you poked your head out from under the bridge...you could see the points others are making?

What's with the feedback OBSESSION??
Trouble with the clarity of your titling?
These posters are trying to answer the question, for some reason other than how appreciative you are.

I would suppose that the obsession with receiveing feedback could be due to a controlling need on the part of one party involved a transaction, much like the need to... well, control the flow of a conversation, perhaps.

But I could be wrong...

.....mine is the only opinion that matters, because I am always right.
I ask questions for the sole purpose of proving that you are, always have been, and always will be totally flawed in your thinking.
Your ideas will immediately be dismissed as they have no validity.
Your experience is irrelevant.
Resistance is futile.
You will be assimilated.

Okay, I'll bite. Call me ignorant but:
1) What in the world is a dunderhead?
2) Is douchebag one word or two?
3) Can a douchebag/douche bag actually grow up ie mature or does it just expand?
4) How exactly is the Intelligence Quotient of a Moth quantified?
TIA

Why do I feel we haven't seen the last pof this incarnation...perhaps another moth is coming out of cocoon as we speak.

Who knows..perhaps a lady will emerge!

Thanks, Joice!
So ... is it obsessive if I want to have "earned" my negs?
My numbers don't matter much to me, if I screw up, my bad, I deserve a neg. Point being, I don't feel that FB is owed to me, nor do I need "Puppy kisses" (but I like 'em).
If a bidder doesn't want to leave FB, O-Tay.
If it is chosen to be given, I would appreciate honesty!
(especially if, as Eventer put it, it directly corresponds to, ummm, s-e-x.)

Taking a rare moment to be serious, I'd hate for this thread to be taken in the wrong vein by any lurkers who might be considering posting or any newer posters who might be concerned.

One thing I learned early on at AW was that once you start a thread, your ability to control it's direction ends at that point.

We've all seen threads we've started end up 180 degrees in another direction. Each and every one of us has started a thread at some time seeking validation of our point only to have the majority of the posters telling us we are wrong. It can be humbling but we generally learn to take it in stride (and you know what..sometimes they are right!). Sometimes threads are fortunate to stay on target. Other times, they get end up far afield.

Often something said in a thread triggers a question in someone's mind & they bring that question to the thread for pondering or answers. It's not always an attempt to hijack or divert a thread from it's original purpose, observation or question.

If you come here often enough, you'll see people who've been here a bit longer or posted a bit more taking an opportunity in a thread to say "hi" to someone they haven't seen in a while..there maybe even a personal exchange or two. You'll see posters asking each other how things are going, you'll even see that some seem to know a bit about each other.

It's part of the good side of posting at AW and something I hope the new posters will come to appreciate. There are also some pretty funny people here & sometimes a well placed quip can ease a lot of tension in a thread.

I hope all lurkers & new posters will feel free to post new threads and offer their opinions and observations in any thread. Just remember, a thread is like a raging river..it goes where it wants to go, not necessarily where we think it should go.

Happy posting everyone!

Here ya go...

douche bag 1. a derogatory term for males, made popular by Howard Stern. Usually denotes incompetency or slow wit. ( "He's such a douche bag, he doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground." ) Submitted by M. Ebie, Akron, OH, USA , 30-09-97.
