The only thing I have to buy is clear packing tape and padded envolopes I buy both at walmart.
there is a lot of packing materials being thrown out and most small merchants would be happy to save it for you . When we had our store we sold electronics most items came packed with lots of penuts this was before ebay so we were not doing any reshipping
we would have gladly given them to someone It particularly bothered my wife from the ecological standpoint putting all this crap in the landfill in fact she evan got a couple of distributors to switch to bio packaging.
anyway try small merchants dealing in electronics ask them when they get their shipments and offer to come by that day to pick up bubble wrap ,penuts ect. The key is to get by and get it and not have it pile up in their way

I live near a company in Jacksonville, called Duvall Container that supplies "odd lots" - those imperfect boxes you questioned. They were the cheapest I found and if I order $150 worth, I get free delivery. I would imagine there are other places like this in other states.
Love the ideas here! I'm going to check lots of them out!
