Billpoint is the one that needs scrutiny there are complaints all over the net about them reverse charging clients. I have been to the billpoint web site and have had so much trouble navagating it as half the links send you back to ebay or they just do not work.
Paypal customer support has been pretty good but I have had some trouble with x.com before they were merged.
Paypal goes out of it way to make its website easy to understand.
Paypal offers a way to get your transaction history and load it to your accounting programs.
So far paypal has not bought up 2 of my first auction programs and this auctionwatch site I liked that used to be free and started to charge for its use like ebay and billpoint did.
If you want to know where billpoint is headed just look at what they did to our beloved ebay with all the extra banner adds and overhead the little people with modems that spend the real money can barly download the pages anymore and margins are suffering because of it.

I use paypal and billpoint in my auctions. Most of my buyers suprisingly pay through paypal. I also offer paypal at my web hosting company as an alternative method of payment. My only confusion so far with paypal is that they wont put up my webhosting store in the paypal shop. I got a cryptic message saying it was against their rules to put up shops that offer illegal items. hahahhahahahahaaaaa
web hosting, web design, oracle dba services. Those are what my websites all about. No one I guess had bothered to check it. Anyway, i guess until I can get a merchant account, I dont have much choice. But may be after reading through these posts, I'll come away with a different payment method to offer my buyers. Until then, paypal it is.

PayPal is in trouble deep. Repeatedly raising fees, bad-mouthing the competition, and lying shows that a company is desperate. If they are still around next year, I fully expect them to be directly charging your customers for their service...without lowering the cost to you.

The letter sent out by PayPal has had me wondering why a company that has been so good to work with had to stoop to such low tactics. I have had no complaints with them and like the new ATM card they have since I can use it at the P.O. or anywhere my usual ATM card can be used. When I read they were bad mouthing Billpoint, I was unhappy with that statement. I have a lot of my customers use PayPal but will not give up using Billpoint also since there are many out there that prefer them. I did set up a separate account with my bank and Billpoint automatically directly deposits there and it is speedy and well worth the small expense at my bank. I use it for PayPal direct deposits also and can easily transfer the money to my regular account. If anyone tried to pull money out of the special account, they would not get very far as I keep the lowest balance possible in it. I just hope that PayPal comes out with an spology to smooth over the feathers they have ruffled with their statement.
