I've just quickly found over 700 Ted (Theodore) Turners and am sure that there must be more.
You'd be safe only if you invite them all.

enchanted,
I'll go out on a limb and say you're safely within the CGs. But you're welcome to invite Mr. Turner if you'd like.

James
I remembered that thread today, that's one reason Ted's low on the list of eligible suitors for my family, he actually married her. Not that I want to start that discussion again.
keeping quiet now...

I also would like to know why some of you think Collin Powell would make a good president.
I haven't heard any of his views on anything except affirmative action. The way he hangs out with the Bush family and also being a Republican I can't say if he would be my choice for president.
It could be the only difference with Powell is that he has more class. He also isn't running for anything so he really doesn't have to give his opinions, and as far as I know he hasn't.

Chococake,
My memory isn't really great. I like what he did in Desert Storm(right war?)..whenever I hear him I'm totally impressed by him.
I didn't even know he was pro Bush when I first saw him.
He is level headed enough to know he doesn't want to be Pres!

IMLDS2 - I heard the main reason he wouldn't run for president is because his wife asked him not too. She is afraid he would be killed. I've heard this several times.
Yes, that's the right war, LOL. I just wish they would have finished it. I think Powell wanted to but, Bush said no.

Hi Chocolate
Just popping in and out and read your comment. I believe I remember Mrs. Powell making that statement about not wanting her husband to run for president. I had forgotten all about it.
I agree that he does seem to have some class and he is an impressive speaker as Carole said but as I said before I would like to hear more of how he stands on various issues.

well someone was feeling incredibly mellow yesterday. He passed on the opportunity to argue with both me and sgtmike in the same thread.

it's not enough to be an ordinary citizen anymore, guess I should spend my time reading up on politics to prepare for the debate instead of selling ...

First off he Good General is smart enough to realize that voicing an opinion requires that you take a side on an issue. That requirs that you anger a side of the issue. Why anger either side until you have too while you can enjoy support for both. Next off what issues do you want his opinion on? Is it gun control, abortion, or what.
