I responded this morning to his third email. He has stated he will be filing a complaint with ebay and the postal inspector if I don't refund him the "overcharge".
I reiterated that there would be no refund...he paid the fixed shipping of $15 as stated in the auction. I also told him I would not be responding to this matter again.

Fortunately he is the exception and most buyers are not this unreasonable.

Bj...thanks for the link...it is nice to see it in writing

I would never do it BUT...I loved the suggestion to request the shipping supplies be returned in exchange for the refund.

So...here it is...I'm sure that at some point in the near future the Feds will be knocking at my door with a warrant for my arrest. A trail will result and I will most definately be found guilty and sentenced to 15 years hard labor in the pen.

Now what I have to do is spend the next few days making sure my husband is well trained in how to continue my business so it will still be viable when I get paroled 10 years down the road.

I'm going to have my grandchildren over for a few days so I can have pleasant memories of them as I while away the hours in my cell.

I am immediately starting on a crash starvation diet so that when they issue me my striped prison garb I won't look like a beached whale.

I can see the headlines now..."ebay power seller arrested in predawn raid of her California home"...or the quotes in the newspaper article "Agent Pfipps of the FBI stated 'This ebay rip=off artist has dipped into the pockets of her victims one time to many. she will have the book thrown at her. Maybe this will be an example to other ebay sellers and they will clean up their acts!'"

I hope they will let me have a computer in prison so I can keep in touch with all of you here at AW!

Good for you Amy. I normally bend over backwards for customers, but I recently stood my ground with one who wanted to rewrite my TOS...after the auction, of course. Every now and then, principle just seems more important than PR.

BTW...let me know when you hit the Big House. I bake a mean apple cobbler...plenty of room for a handy little hacksaw...

Hi:

I don't quote shipping as I sell China and 9 times out of 10 they purchase more than one piece and I will combine to save shipping costs. Last week I had a guy pay me Via PayPal and made up his own shipping costs stating that he ships these all the time and thats all he is going to pay. Gave me 3.85 not 3.95 and not 3.50. Pkg was 3.95. I asked for 4.25. I state small handling charge in my terms.

Don't they understand its materials and our time!!! I spend at least 4-5 hours shipping every week. Am I to do this for free??? Let them order from a catlog and see if they get exact shipping cost...........

Toke...the apple cobbler sounds good but I think we should pass on the special addition hacksaw...we don't want you to become my cellmate ...not that it wouldn't be pleasant company but I would feel terrible if you became a guest of the government on my account

My husband just suggested to me that I send the refund to him in 25 cent increments through paypal...have to admit the devil in me smiled broadly at the idea!!

Amy:

Even though I am currently being raked over the coals in another thread for b*tchin' and whinin' about "handling charges" I have to stand up and applaud you for being UP FRONT in your auction with your charges and say that your buyer IS being unreasonable!

You posted the EXACT amount that you would charge for shipping....that gave your buyer and any other bidder COMPLETE information to base their bids on and left NOTHING open for confusion. If only ALL sellers could be so up front!

I don't care if I pay a $10.00 "laundry-charge-cause-I-peed-in-my-pants-while-waiting-in-line-at-the-post-office-fee" as long as I am TOLD about it up front in the auction TOS instead of after I have won a bid in an EOA notice!

You did NOTHING wrong....and for those of us out here like to buy...please KEEP doing it!
