If I was faced with the Tampon Box held by my Carrier, I would just say "SO is an Enviromental Zealot and she "appreciates" such actions."

Eh, gotta lie thru your teeth sometimes...

I never ship items in a used box or bubble envelope. I do use the check boxes sometimes but I put an outside brown paper around it. I don't want to receive one. You can pick up boxes almost everywhere. Goodwill, Estate Sales and buy them new and charge a handling fee. I have a stack of boxes that I have purchased very reasonably. I just started to work at a large garden and gift store and I was amazed at what they threw away. Needless to say I now go through there boxes before they smash them and also the amount of bubble wrap they throw away saves me a mint. My pay is low but the perks are great.

Not to put a damper on things but be careful getting used boxes from some place like a thrift store or Goodwill. Speaking from experience (I work at one). As donations come in these boxes and once we got a box of cockroaches along with the clothing/toys. Including one bug that was inside a tightly closed heart shaped box (go figure).

We have our store sprayed once a month and rarely ever see a roach, however, you NEVER know if one day they will be donated with the items and be hiding inside those boxes.

Hi. I need to clairfy myself. I didn't mean to use used boxes from the Goodwill. Sometimes on their shelves forsale they have the shirt boxes etc wrapped in shrinkwrap and never used. I buy them and use them to mail my books in. They aren't really heavy but that is protection for the book.

OK, I think this thread has gone through it's natural cycle. It's time to wrap it up and throw it away (just don't flush it), PERIOD!!

I can't believe that someone would complain about this. I get boxes from the grocery store and liquor store and don't think twice about using them if they are the size I need (of course I make sure then are clean and undamaged.) I guess I should pay more attention to what I use but then noone has ever mentioned it.

I did sell a bunch of rabbits at the flea market one day and put them in douche boxes.Nobody even noticed. I had stocked a big display at K-Mart the night before and thought they would be the perfect size boxes for my little rabbits.
