Thankx kiawok and others.

I see HCQ appears over there, too. Good. It was her incredible research and tenacity in the van Gogh thread that hooked me into following AW, whether I was posting or not.

EVENTER - Looks like we have something in common. This is my 4 year old taking after her mom. She's already a great little rider. Your daughter looks incredible! Congratulations!

You folks don't need anyone to e-mail you the location of the other board, it has been liberally sprinkled around these threads. Here it is for those that haven't found it yet - OTWA.

wbdareme,

Oooh, dressage...my daughter's bane! I salute anyone who has the patience or talent to tackle it!

overfence,

Your daughter is beautiful! You must be incredibly proud! Just don't let her do eventing, it's too darn scary.

Eventer - I have no intentions of letting her event. That scares me to death. Closest I've come to eventing is the hunter paces here in Ohio and those are lots of fun. I don't think I could watch my own kid event. I'd have a heart attack. For right now a nice solid (aged) school pony and some low fences are just enough! What state are you in?

For the others looking for where most are moving to, it's at www.otwa.com. Look for the eBay related board there.

What state are you in?

Terror, mostly.

Actually down in the black hole of equestrian showing..Alabama. Which is why I almost have my long distance truckers license..every show is atleast a state away.

I almost wish mine had stayed with something like hunter-jumper. I had finally learned how to hold my breath for an entire round. Can't do that on 5 minute long cross country courses.

Actually, you don't have to watch them event. It's a rare competition where you can actually see most of the course (Kentucky Horse Park is one of the few). Once they disappear from sight, I just stand by the announcer & wait to see if they call for the ambulance. If they don't & she shows up at the finish line, I'm a happy mom. But it is the longest 5 minutes of my life each & every time.

The one she's riding now is a New Zealand thoroughbred, 8 yrs old & 16.2 hands & full of himself. She's barely 5 feet tall & 100 pounds soaking wet but full of herself. The clash of the titans.

mrpotatoheadd,

You probably don't recall this but I almost gave up posting at AW because of you. My very first post was in one of those non-anon vs anon threads back in the wild west days.

I posted saying I thought people should be anon if they wanted & you landed on me w/both feet (along with a now departed poster). After ya'll finished, I almost emailed to have my ID removed!

Seems a long time ago now.

Now with this mass exit from AW I hope that you will realize that this is the friendliest place on the net to post. When I started posting on this board it was very hostle and almost every other post needed a moderator. It has really lightened up, really no more name calling etc. A nice place to discuss. I want to ask you where you can go and park for free and use the space for your own personal use. AW is not asking you for your 1st born just a form of identification to make sure you are the one who is posting. Lots of places cost you 35 cents an hour to park your car, and your car doesn't do anything. Here you get a vast knowledge of anything you wanted to know. Remember where you are going is free now but will it be----
Remember there is no free lunch anymore. Thanks to all for your expertese. Everyone has been very helpful.

I was just thinking about that the other day- I thought that was you, but I couldn't remember for sure.

I'm glad you didn't leave. I'm not really all that scary- just opinionated.

See ya around...
