Bookwave -- wouldn't advise the penny thing.
Last month I tested the $1.00 auctions. I listed 20 lobby cards I would normally have had bids of $9.95 on (but for the last 2 months haven't had much interest from anyone on them) and still only sold 10. Of those 10 only 4 went for more than the $1.00 and I only made $19.00 for all of the 10. I could have stuck with my 10% sell through, made more, and only had to ship 2 items plus still had the other 8 in inventory -- just in case things pick up.

I'm giving some of my "stuff" one last go-around on eBay and, if it doesn't sell THIS time, it's going into a garage sale in 3 weeks. I'm going to put a sign in my yard that says "eBay Sellers Welcome"! Will be interesting to see if any of my unsaleable "stuff" ends up back on eBay!

The Hubby and I share our tiny 2 bedroom apartment with four cats, three dogs, a guinea pig and about 2000 books, 100 games, 1000's of records, dvd's, cd's...the list goes on and on...
We have no living room furniture anymore, the sheds and all corners are stacked up to my elbows... My kitchen now serves as shipping central. One bedroom is so full I can hardly walk.
Gets pretty tight here, but when we recently went out of town I actually missed it. I guess I am a serious packrat at heart...
