Why bother posting negative feedback for a non-paying bidder? Why be bitter? It's just an invitation for a negative feedback. I file a non-paying bidder alert, then request a final auction value fee refund, and then re-list the item. Just accept non-paying bidders as part of the online auction scene!

I don't check feedback unless what I'm buying is over $10. $10 is the most I'm willing to lose on an auction.
I don't check the high bidder's feedback unless my auction goes over $10, too.
I avoid sellers with private feedback, because like it or not, the assumption is that if you are on the up and up you won't hide your feedback, negatives and all.
Respond to any negative feedback and give your customer a true idea of what went on with the transaction.

Things are not getting better on ebay. I am dealing with a person that left a negative by mistake. We both asks Square Trade to remove the negative since it was left by mistake. They will not unless we both pay 20 dollars each.
This is a rip off, and I decided that all this progran id good for is to get more money out of honest sellers and bidders.
Also Square Trade says they will remove a negative if the other party does not contact them in 14 days. That is nonsense. The other party never contacted them and still the negative is still not removed.
So, what do we do? It's worse than trying to talk to a our goverment officials. Their mouth moves but they make no sense. I haven't listed any auctios in 2 weeks. I am burned out with ebay for not standing by their own rules. I will get auctions going later on this week, and I am going to try yahoo again to see if they are getting more bidders.
Ebay could use some competition, and maybe a loss of business will wake them up. Their are so many sellers that will no longer use ebay because of all the NPB that ebay let get away with not making them stand by their contract. This is ebays rules. Bids are a contract, and bidders are suppose to abide by those rules. They do not and ebay will not enforce these rules. I as a buyer and seller follow the rules, so why can't we expect ebay to enforce their rules.

Unfortunately, eBay has a lot of competition, but no one is interested in leaving their cushy throne land to venture farther out into the kingdom.
Between bidville, Yahoo, bidbay, sellyouritem, amazon, and half.com there are plenty of auctions site that should give eBay a run for the money.
It's going to take someone with deep pockets to set up a site and do an advertising blitz to draw buyers and sellers away from eBay.
Even more unfortunate, it doesn't matter how profitable a new site is for the buyer when it comes to low fees, if the site doesn't draw buyers from eBay it won't work. I've tried all other auction sites and I just can't make a living there.
Sad, but a fact of life.
