If my post wasn't more specific on the pros and cons, I'll try again.
PRO: FREE (no fees or commissions);easy to use interface; helpful, friendly members; good tech support; growing rapidly!
CON: not as well known(YET) as some bigger auction sites; still needs more catagories; user interface needs some minor alterations/adjustments; a little slow at times.
REMEMBER: there's always room for improvement
I agree that no one should flame another person for their critisim of ePier, or eBay, or any other auction site. Constructive critisism should be welcomed...how else can we improve ourselves except by knowing our faults?

Auctiongaurd-- You've done a bit of flaming yourself with troll-like comments such as accusing ePier users of naïvete when it comes to business. "Go Santa Go" didn't help matters, in fact, looking at the thread again, *your* post was the first real negative comment from which the flaming began. Whether serious or not, mocking that which others are passionate about is never a good idea.
You asked for honest opinions, that's what I see here, nobody is being paid to come here & speak glowingly of ePier, and there are some opinions less than thrilled with ePier and thats fine, if ePier were *perfect* all the others would be out of business by the end of today
BTW, in youre opening post, you say "help us rate the.....etc."--- who in this case is *us*? Are you affiliated with Auctionwatch in some capacity? Just curious

Have a good day!

relayerone......this was the subject I was referring to...
>>>>Seems to me you were hoping for a slew of negative remarks, because that hasn't happened, you now want to "lock" the thread..<<<<<<<<<<<.
Sorry for the omission. I think you hit the nail right on the head!

auctiongaurd, you started these RATE threads and now that you have not received the negative responses that you wished for you want this one locked.
Opinions are just that OPINIONS, and mine is that you are working for an auction site that charges FEES and trying to cause discontent with the users of the free sites.
Why do I get this impression?? Because of your following statement on another Thread that you started which is as follows:

Wabmester,
That is halarious! But you are right. People have been accustomed to getting their services on the Internet for free. I've said this before, I think that on a particular date ALL of the online auction sites should begin starting fees INCLUDING basic listing fees. If all of them did this it would clean up the industry from the littered three cent garbage and turn the industry into a respectable e-commerce marketplace.
It would also weed out the less adaquate sites and provide a revenue stream for those that survive that would allow for branding, advertising, and upkeep.
Sure it would also make a lot of sellers abandon the auction industry for good, but if I were a business I would rather have 1000 paying customers over 10,000 non-paying ones.

That is rediculous. That post was my opinion and my opinion only. I have stated time and time again that I LIKE EPIER! I am not hoping for negative reviews.
People in this thread got angry at me for asking why any site would continue to do things for free, knowing that it costs money to offer these services.
Somebody stated IN THIS THREAD that epier would never EVER charge any kind of fees, so I posed the question of "why?". What's in it for them? And my response was people asking me if I question charitable contributions at church too.
This is not an intelectual argument, so I refuse to participate any longer. It's funny, but it often seems that the crowd follows whoever is the loudest and the meanest in these threads.

Boy a lot of things to respond to. I for one love epier!!!! I have seen before not sure where but will go find it for you where epier says no fees ever!!
The other post about taking credit cards it right that is how epier will make thier money. I for one will only except credit cards through epier once it is up and running. It will be my way of saying thank you to the great folks Mr. Kim who started epier for us.
ePier is really a great auction site. I hope anyone new looking through this thread that does not or has not tried epier will give it a chance. Bunches on bunches of nice sellers and buyers over there. More family like than any other auction site I have ever visted bought from on sold on.
I could go on forever but will not. I hope those of you who are bashing this great site will just stop in and take another look around. Super Site full of somer Super People.

This is LadyScorp at Epier here.
Auctionguard - people were rating this site just as requested. I only heard YOU speaking of Santa Claus. Why was that necessary? There was no need to bash someones opinion and make a mockery of it by sarcatically insinuating we think he is Santa. That is why people got angry.
As far as following the loudest and meanest? Well, who is following you? Not I.
My rating of Epier stands - it is definitely a site to be noticed. They have so much going for them in ways of interacting with their members. They hear and respond to our request for changes. They do not consider us "clutter". Yes, today they are free! They are nowhere near ready to begin with fees and IF they ever do, then I'm sure the site would be justified. They know there is changes needed within the site and they seem to value our input and act on it. I guess - enough said.
Epier has the right basis for great growth potential, now all we need to do is expand upon it and it won't happen overnight but I truly believe it will happen.

There seems to be some question as to why mr. kim is setting this site up for free.
In a recent interview he stated that he had plans to set up an escrow company much like paypal. The interest alone should pay the expenses of the site.I think his plan is good and solid. As a seller known as BERKSHIRE at this site I intend to fully support his site.I've had nothing but good experiences at this site and intend to keep listing there. In the past 2 weeks I have sold 10 items I now sit with bids on 13 more items. The money I got for the items was equal to or better than the other #1 site. I'm glad I chose epier for my only auction site and will stay with them and watch them grow...BERKSHIRE

In response to EPIER not remaining a free service, I would like to know how YAHOO remained a free service for the many years
until recent Auction listing fees have made it so unpopular. If for some reason EPIER has to charge, I would likely leave the site, but I know there will always be new free sites created in place of it elsewhere.
Alot of members complain frequently about the site features, lack of support, comparing it to EBAY, which is totally unfair at this point - since they are providing EVERYONE with a free service, how can anyone complain? Why would someone buy lemonade from my stand for a dollar when they know they could get it from Granny smith's house down the block for free? Just because she likes to do that for the community, does that make her a criminal?
America was built on free enterprise, thats why we are all here.

SUPER site! Yes, I am very pleased. I've been looking for another auction site for quite some time, even though I have done very good on Ebay...it just seems things at Ebay are getting prohibitive and I wanted a place where I felt a little more FREE in trying to build MY business.
Epier seems to be the place. I've researched and registered at a number of other auction houses. Epier was easy, it's easy to list, easy to navigate and I already have bids on 3 items just listed a few days ago!
As far as customer service, I have not dealt with them yet, but I don't expect much at this point with the site being free. In order to hire more people, they will need money.
I, too, think Epier is the sleeping giant and can't wait to see it really take off. Promo will have to happen to get the buyers there and I am already doing my own promo. I suggest every seller do the same.
