Mike, that is great news! But aren't we at the mercy of how fast or slow Ebay is on any given day? So often I schedule an auction for, say, 7:15 p.m. and it launches 10-15 minutes later. Just wondering.

It looks good and loads much faster now.
Roadsmith, the only time I have problems with launch times was when ebay is having a FLD. All other times they go straight up. I like the idea of the vendio webhosting.

That is very good news indeed. Please be sure to let us all know.
I might start paying Vendio when that happens. I can only schedule up to 3 weeks in advance on eBay's system and believe me, sometimes that isn't enough. Occasionally I have a dozen of one style and want to run one a week.

From comments on another thread here: "And, with this program I cancelled 1200+ store listings with one click of the mouse, converted them from store to FP with another click, and then released them with just one more click. Presto, last FP sale day everything was up and running. It did take a couple of hours for them to post, but only 3 clicks from me!"
Are there plans at Vendio to do something like this SOON??

Fascinating discussion. gaugagaug and sparkz - I am an Opera user too. If only more people knew about Opera -- I still keep having those "Why can't IE do that" moments.
Good work Vendio on being responsive to user suggestions. Ebayers are not used to that. I like the new site, especially that less screen area is used for Vendio stuff, more for working content.

And while we're at it hoping for quick fixes from this lightning-fast team - a repeat of one more request to make life easier:
Please make the dimensions of the preview thumbnails on the create listing page match the proportions that actually show up on Ebay. E.g. Ebay gallery on search page is square (64x64), preview is 200x150 .
Thumbmails that you show are stretched to other dimensions so they are useless for getting an idea of what your thumbnail will actually look like.

I know I asked before.
But PLEASE send the little girl in the cellar with her PlaySkool computer back to school.
And hire someone with a real computer and a little savy to run Inventory.
Editing there is going to be the life of me yet!

But I like my PlaySkool computer! *pout*
The beta site is only representative of one of the many projects that we've been working on at the same time. When the new navigation is released to the main site, there won't be any changes to Inventory or to the thumbnails on the Create Listing page. But, the great news is that this is only just the beginning.
Very soon, you'll see one thing after another be released. Some we'll be able to stage in a beta environment, others we won't be able to (due to dependencies on changing database structures).
Keep pounding on the beta site and let us know if there's anything related to the new navigation that we've overlooked.

Pirateboy, after reading this thread, talking about scrolling sideways & software, I was freaking out. I tried a test auction-Thanks for not making the site unusable. As a Webtv`r, any changes usually make listing a living hell full of workarounds & glitches. I know Vendio wishes all Webtv`rs would just crawl into a hole or go away, but the new site is faster & more user friendly than the old one, at least for me. Love it, keep it up!!

I spoke to someone at WebTV a few months ago as we were developing this site. I was worried that with all the dHTML tricks that I wanted to do, WebTV wouldn't be able to keep up. I was surprised to hear that WebTV actually uses a build of Internet Explorer now. While WebTV still isn't up to snuff with every other platform, it's good to hear that it's still hanging in there. I should note however, that we're not officially supporting WebTV. We code with strict web standards compliancy, and sometimes WebTV is cool with it, sometimes it's not. Hope to see more and more updates from those guys.
iareateacher, nope, I think Drew posts as dsimchik on the boards. I'm Christian, known in previous lives as Honesty Christian and Andale Christian. But now I'm a pirate and sail the good seas of Vendio.

There is a suggestion I have made several times to Vendio. I find that sometimes I forget to click on the "add images" box, or when I go back to edit, the pictures disappear, and my auctions end up with no pictures. I wish Vendio would put a red comment like "Did you want to add images?" or something similar, they put a comment for any other areas that are missed, and I am sure that everyone using Vendio is putting up images.

I knew that eBay had its "pinks," but I never knew that Vendio had its "blues"
Yes, the ability to launch at intervals of less than 15 minutes will be a welcome change. I like to launch every 7 minutes. Gives people enough time to get from one auction to another, but not too much that the auctions string out over too long of a period of time.
Also, the default on photo storage - the max is now 90 days. I'd like to see that extended to 120 days. Apparently, eBay keeps the auctions in their database for longer than 90 days if people post feedback later. That's where the links are still live - my feedback.

Amber has a good suggestion here. I do the same thing, occasionally, but thankfully I usually preview the description before scheduling it and will catch my goof. A red reminder would be great, right there on the listing page.

Well, good news for everyone in reference to the image hosting widget on the create listing page. We've got a new, less confusing, and more compact and powerful widget coming very soon. When you see it, it'll be really, really clear what images are attached and what images aren't.
