LOL Neglus~! ... thanks for asking!
I *am* indeed doing them one by one this morning ... heck, I would LOVE to do them 'en masse' (there's a couple hundred items, all different) ... it was explained to me over under the Services board that I "simply" (uh... yeah right) go into Inventory, click on an item, then at bottom click the section for 'ebay' and enter my ebay info (gtc, the ebay store category that i named, etc), then Save the redone inventory item, THEN go back and find it agan and launch it as 'ebay store' item ... quite tedious.

To move an item from the Vendio Store to an eBay Store you have to go into inventory. Go into the item you want. And yes you have to do each one separately. At the top there is a block for how many you have available and in the middle there is one for how many you have in your Vendio Store. You can reduce the number in the store and it will make the number available increase by that number.
Then you have to click on the eBay icon at the bottom right and set the item up for your eBay store. You can set it up for auction at the same time. Just in case you may want to put it up for auction later. When you click on save you will be back at the first page. Click save again and you will be back at the inventory list. Check the box by the item and then click on Launch at the top.
It takes awhile if you have a lot of items like I do. I wish there was some way to do it in bulk also. I think that may be part of the inventory changes Vendio announced a few days ago. Let's hope.

Does anyone know how to offer a discount for purchases made through an eBay store? I would like to offer my customers discounts for shopping my store, but am not sure how to or even if it is permissable. Thanks for any information you can provide.

I have had a Vendio store for years. Since the beginning I think. I have always sold a good bit out of it, but since I'm not working and this is paying my car payment, I need to sell a whole lot more.
I've seen everyone in here talking about eBay stores and decided to give it a try. It's free for one month and only $10 a month after that. It won't hurt to give it a try and see which one brings in the most money. I have some big pieces that I need to get a good price on and didn't want to pay eBay the high listing fees. Well, as soon as I opened the eBay store they started buying out of my Vendio store.
I have only had the eBay a week. By what everyone says in here, it takes a while to get going good with it. I will let you know in a few weeks which one I'm getting the best sales from.

GARY - I offer a discount when 5 or more items are purchased. I have not figured out a way to do it on the EBay invoice - so I just tell people to deduct the amount if mailing payment and if paying through PP to pay the full amount and I deduct the issue a partial refund of 15%. If anyone knows of a better way I'd REALLY like to know too!

If I open an ebay store and am currently using vendio gallery on my auctions, is vendio going to charge me an extra 5 to 10 cents for every store item that shows up in vendio gallery?? If so, it makes me think I would want to get rid of vendio gallery before opening store.....

If the transactions are already completed, why offer a discount at all? Offer free or half price shipping on their next order instead. It's easier to account for, and it will tend to generate future business and make repeat customers.

I advertise the discount as an enticement to purchase more than one postcard - i already combine s/h (flat $1.50 for unlimited # of items). I have had people buy as many as 60 postcards at once - I am very glad to apply the discount in the "here and now".

When setting up your store - make sure your 4 best categories are #1-#4 : those are the ones that pull into your storefronts metatags.
Fill category names with relevant keywords, same with your store description field.
Use the Custom Pages to develop promotional pages, catalogs, etc again full of keywords and that will all get picked up by search engines.
My store is now about 65% of my total eBay activity - it usually pays for itself within the first week of the month and everything else is extra.
I did try the Featured Store for 1/2 price for September - and had my best month of the year.
I have, however, downgraded back to a basic store because I'm cheap 8)

I have what might be a dumb question, but since I am just now working on 'opening' and stocking my eBay Store, ... when you pick GoodTilCancelled, and somebody buys it, does it automatically go 'out' of ebay's system books, or instead, do we have to manually (somehow?) 'cancel' it ourself?
also, (I'm sure I could find this if I could figure out where to read about it), I am assuming the FVF is the same as an auction item, yes?
Thank you everyone who has put info into this thread.
I keep being so amazed, filling in our Store with items whose pricetags are several hundred dollars, and review it before launching and it reads, 'ebay cost = 3 teeny tiny cents' ... that blows my mind! Gotta love it. These are the same items I have been listing, relisting, paying thru the wazoo for those 'auction' listings, with no bidders. ... got a 200$ store sale yesterday... there IS a God. lol

gtootie: I use my 5 custom pages in a few different ways.
#1 is my Store Policies page - this summarizes my payment methods accepted, shipping time frames, shipping services, etc.
#2 & #3 are product catalog pages. I use these to showcase categories of items that I sell. I provide links to customized searches of my store for different product lines in that category.
#4 & #5 are holiday promotional pages. I currently have Halloween and Christmas showcases featuring items for those themes, linking back to the item listings.
My eBay ID is katiyana if you want to take a look at what I"m doing.
*******
aintrich : GTC listings will close when the quantity available reaches 0. Otherwise every 30 days, it rolls over if there remains unsold quantities, and you're charged another 2 cents.
For example, if I have a GTC listing with a quantity of 10 available listed in June, nothing sells the first 30 days, it relists in July with the same item # & a quanity of 10. I sell 4 items during the next month, in August it relists with a quantity of 6. In September I sell the last 6 items and the item closes.
If I have more of the item, I can then relist it.
FVF rates are the same.

OK, I can handle the part about promotion, building a brand and all that. But how many auctions do you normally run? Do you run hot sellers or things you are trying to get rid of? Or both? I'm still loading the store, but will end up with around 1200 items. Almost all of my items are recurring. I rarely have a one time item.
Like AintRich, I had one sell yesterday morning that paid for the store this month. I just need a lot more of them. A whole lot more. I'm not trying to get rich, I'm trying to not be homeless.

Tootie - I am sure it depends on what you sell. I do run lots of auctions because each of my items is unique (postcards). I get higher prices in my auctions.
I think I read on the ebay store discussion board that you have to run more auctions when you first start out than you do later on.
Since you sell a lot of the same type of thing, make buttons in your auctions that link to each of your store categories.
Seriously, when you get things set up, ask for opinions on the store sellers board and "freeauctionbytes.com" (that's where some of the more technically experienced ebay board posters went when they got slapped from ebay "pinks" . You will be amazed at the ideas and feedback you get there! Also make sure you add your URL to some of the "Malls" they suggest there - (you can get referral buys and get a discount on the FVF)...many of the posters shop other posters ebay stores so you might also get sales just by posting!

The current recommendation eBay store staff offers is running 75% auction/25% store inventory to start, and gradually shift to more store inventory items as you develop your marketing, etc.
Except for when a new set comes out, or holiday promotions, I'm running over 90% store inventory items.
the website is freeauctionscripts - not free auctionbytes.. you've got auctionbytes on the brain *grin*
There was also an eBay Store Workshop in the Workshop Board last week with lots of good info.
