Real person's name story (which I may have told before)
When I was a child my aunt had a friend that everyone called Margie. One day I heard her husband call her Oleo. When I asked why I was told that her actual name was Oleo Margarine! Seems she was born the year before margarine was introduced to a wide market. Her mother had heard the name and did not know what it was but liked the sound of it. All her life she was called Margie except by her husband who thought Oleo was cute.
For you young ones oleo margarine is what the fake butter used to be called. Are any of you willing to admit you are old enough to remember margarine when it was white with a little yellow pill that had to be mashed up to make it yellow? My memory is that it was during WWII when I was REALLY young.
