what do you mean:
"Of course, they don't get a WBN with the correct shipping either, as we have to go in and manually force those to go out."
-----------------------------------

did you winning bidder notices that you preset on auction manager pro - not go out at all- not go out with the s&h you entered when doing the auction??

i have 200 auctions ending tonight- i did not do any revisions on ebay concerning the check out wonderful feature for exactly the reasons you stated -error pages all the times when revising ( i have 400 + auctions on right now)

wonderful service

The WBN do not go out for buy it now auctions. Those are the WBN I was referring to. My WBN are not the problem, though, it is the checkout showing 0.00 in the shipping after the auction ends. I have this happening with auctions I posted last night that ended this am. And does not have anything to do with billpoint being checked and then unchecked as I have not touched my options.

Is just a sad situation. Am in the process of revising auctions and take forever, continue to get the page unavailable error and have to go back and forth 10 -15 times for it to finally go thru.

I will NOT list with AW anymore until they get this fixed. Is faster for me to list manually then to have to revise, gonna take me all day, could have listed 200 auctions in that time. (

thanks for letting me know it was buy it now wbn - why not do this - for i can not spend the time to revise all 200 + auctions

in your wbn that aw sends- since that is where they get your payment terms, address for paypal etc , address to mail - why not state at the very top of form - "not a check out participant ...** s&h at bottom of page**

then it goes into congrats on winning #
auction win price$ etc etc etc

they are sure to see that first when reading wbn? (i used to write s&h look at bottom right after win price info - since most people never read thru the form to the end to find it in the first place

that is what i had to do for now -any thoughts on that ?

I didn't start this thread with the intention of letting other people complain about the quality of AW services. I'm kindly asking you to edit your posts or I will ask that the thread be locked and discontinued...

I have always had the revising my auctions problem too. Here are some things to try to make it work. (1)Download Netscape and revise with it. Ebay has a glitch with Internet Explorer that should have been fixed long before they started implementing new features. (2)When you get to the error page, wait about 2-3 minutes then refresh or retry. Keep doing it til it works. Time consuming and frustrating, but it usually eventually works. (3)Here is a trick that I found rather sneaky on Ebays part. If you use Paypal's automated link inserter, delete all their link html from your description field when you are revising. This works best for me.

Part of the problem with AW not having checkout implemented was that Ebay specifically told all the 3rd party providers (and tried to tell all of us) that checkout would be strictly optional. It has just been a few weeks since AW even found out that it truly is not. (I know, I think I may have been the one to tell them.) In my view Ebay's checkout feature directly competes with AW and other listing provider's end of auction services. The fact that AW is going to implement this feature for us at all tells me that they are looking out for their customers interests. (Now I will gladly take that back if it takes over a month for them to implement it.) JMHO

Once again what is the ETA for AW to support Ebay's CHECKOUT?

The errror with revise is with MS IE. I went through this before. If you upgrade to IE 6 or use any Netscape you will not have the problem. I also found out that if you rvise an auction you can not update the min bid and buy it now at the same time. You have to revise it twice. One at a time.

I too have had problems revising auctions using IE 5.5

I found that if I clear my cache each and every time, before clicking on the "Continue" button, it seems to work. Don't understand why, but it seems worth trying to see if it works for you.

Certainly better than dealing with all the error messages.

Regarding the "Revise" problem with IE - this has been a problem since before I even began selling on eBay over a year ago. I actually emailed them about it and they recommended I use "Opera" browser. I find it very fast, better than Netscape, which I had to quit using because it just kept locking up on me and freezing.

www.opera.com. Try it, revisions go thru without a hitch and immediately. Good Luck!

The shipping/handling does show up as $0.00 on the checkout thing. I had a high bidder do a buy it now and instead of waiting for an email from me she was trying to type in the shipping amount in the checkout to no avail. She emailed me about it and I told her that I don't use the ebay checkout and that a winning bidder notification was on the way (I had to log into AW and refresh that auction about 15 times to get it to send the WBN). She emailed me back saying, "No problem. It's the first purchase I've made since they changed to that
system. I don't like it at all. I sat there forever trying to enter the $1.00 shipping to pay. DUH! Anyway, I'll wait for your message. Sorry for the trouble!" When I went to the auction that she was high bidder on the check out thing is now at the top of the page and it says,

Checkout Details* Item price $1.25
U.S. Shipping and Handling $0.00
Shipping Insurance per item - Sales Tax (none)

So it does cause great confusion. Some people never read the description and if they do the check out they do try to pay just the high bid and assume I'll pay the shipping. I can't pay the shipping as I'm not making money after all is said and done as a matter of fact from 1-1-2001 through 10-25-2001 I'm at about -$175 for all incoming/outgoing $ on ebay stuff I've listed during that time. Sales are really terrible this year with a lot of stuff being listed repeatedly in order to try to get it out of the house and a lot more deadbeats than usual, although I've always had a high % of them (I can get back final value fees but not listing fees and all my items that do sell, sell at low $). This ebay checkout is only making things worse. At least I'm not the only one who feels this way about the new ebay checkout. Buyers and sellers alike are upset about it.

Obviously there are a number of issues that eBay needs to resolve with regards to the "checkout" feature.

For those waiting for AW to implement the feature for listing on eBay I suspect that we won't see an update until eBay has finished testing and revising this feature first. There doesn't seem to be much point in trying to adapt to something that eBay hasn't finished revising yet. Otherwise we may expect to go through several versions of updates here on AW as well, which would probably be more painful than just waiting for eBay to finalize their product and then get an AW update that will work with the final version.

I'm just glad that I only sell things as part of a hobby and can afford to wait a few months if need be...

This has become another hoop to jump through for all of us. How I wish Auctionwatch would be more proactive than reactive! The service needs to streamline with eBay and Paypal more succinctly...I just write in my auction description that my bidders agree NOT to use the checkout at all! eBay hasn't caught me yet, but it will.

I could not revise my auction so I have added to my description: PLEASE NOTE I cannot use Check-Out - Please disregard this section when the auction ends. Now the successful bidder cannot refuse to pay the shipping charges.
