I don't know whether to recommend or not to recommend - guess it's a "wait and see" for me. I can see problems with it (ie: if buyers follow my link to see my other store items they leave the EE site and purchases will not be included in the shopping cart - pretty much shoots my "10% discount for 5 items" deal)but it SHOULD give us more exposure for our listing buck and can't argue with that!

I don't see where it can hurt anything to have additional exposure. I think it may take some time before it takes off, but free additional exposure can never hurt.
The trick is getting it to work! That will certainly get easier as they worh the bugs out. Quite a lot of bugs if you read the eBay boads.

Lordy!! I got a live answer from ebay as to why my 1,100 different qualifying items are not on ebay express....evidently when I went in to "my preferences" yesterday and was looking through the list, I inadvertently opted out of the ebay express program, but I sure never did that intentionally and so now we ebay sellers who make these types of mistakes are being punished for one whole week before we can opt back in (sys ad spouse says he thinks that's because of how ebay is updating servers)...
when it comes to making choices from popup lists, I'm having the SAME problem with other ebay popup choice lists, too, when it comes to rebuilding my store or when revising auctions, i.e., I'll choose one popup option and it reverts to something else.
Example: let's say I want to change my insurance feature from not offering insurance to making it optional....when the popup window comes up and I try to choose "optional" it almost always reverts to "not offered" the first time I use the popup, so I always have to do that window twice. This happened to us through all 1,100 auction ad changes when we converted from having all info in body of ad to using ebay's shipping columns so that we could be a part of ebay express.
Is this a problem with ebay or with my mouse? I have a real "springy" mouse clicker/pointer.
Of course, none of this explains this supposed "opting out" of ebay express...I did no such thing...I merely "unminimized" it in my preferences. So be careful, folks....before it happens to you.

I notice that my category (old ads) is not part of the express experience, but folks are getting around that by putting their ads in other categories (ie., entertainment memoriabilia).
Not sure this is going to be worth it but I will float a few out there and see what happens. I just got a bunch of old movie ads from the 30s. Just the thing to test the waters.

Have any of you noticed that Ebay Express is as slow as molasses? LOL! I suppose that's because of their recent problems? And don't try a search right now or your computer many hang up badly, at least mine did last night.
Also: learn from this boo boo...don't accidentally hit the wrong button in your "My Preferences" because you might accidentally opt out of the ebay express program like I did....and then there's a 7 day waiting period to rejoin.

Oops, forgot something about categories:
here's another one: if you change your categories, I got a message that there will be a delay in showing up.
Now, not only that: what if we get "jacked up" by ebay for having items in the WRONG categories...there's a lot of ebay powerseller sharks out there just looking for reasons to turn people in. We know. We had it happen to us 3 times for very minor infractions (e.g., once it was because they claimed a Vendio link was too long! which of course, we had no power over), which is why we tossed our powerseller status back in ebay's face and told them if being a powerseller means sharking and snitching every tiny infraction and getting joy out of seeing hundreds of auctions blown out into cyberspace, never to be seen again for sellers who offer hundreds of different designs at one time, then that's not what we want to be affiliated with.
Clarification: there are a lot of nasty sharks in the craft department....and it's happened to a lot of my craft department contacts, too.
Anyway: I think a lot of the problems right now with Express are just because it's got glitches, etc., and is still kind of in a beta phase?
