Then that would mean that topical suggestions are off topic?

therp! how off topic of you!

stockticker well, there you go mentioning your non-religious affiliation again in a thread with God in the title. My goodness, I am faint with offense and thank my higher power that I have you on ignore.

Lotsa please get this thread locked immediately. There's an atheist on a semi-religious non-topic off-topic thread.

Or does that mean that if the topic of the topic is off topic then off topic references to the topic would be off topic and therefore on topic?

I'm so confused!

Stockticker: Don't worry. He/she won't let it happen again.

I was offended when my Sunday School teachers insisted we memorize the books of the Bible. "Leviticus" is a real mouthful for a 6 year old kitten.

krs- got it the first time-didn't find it amusing. stockticker-not the bible per se, but a twisted reference. james- did not know that we must have the same perceptions. lotsafuzz-i tried to discuss it(look again) but since the topic was so hilarious no one could stop laughing long enough to do so! i guess i mistakenly took that to mean that it was a big religious joke. are there possibly any religious jokes that might offend you? maybe i have just seen far too much blatant and back-handed anti-semitism on these boards, but i am sure none of the two threads' posters could possibly be guilty of that. right? it seems that when someone raises this topic many come out of the woodwork to say it isn't so. maybe some protest too much!

"Tropic Of Cancer"..let's see wasn't that considered a racy book in its day? Written by..by..(snapping fingers) oh, I forget. Hey lotsafuzz how come you're allowing discussions about sex in your religious thread? Can't have sex and religion in the same context. You better have this thread locked. It's become unproductive.

I don't know, why don't you go make yourself a thread and see.

You are *so* barking up the wrong tree.

maybe some protest too much!

The correct place to protest, as you well know, is in the moderators corner. Why don't you go there?

KatyD: After assuring myself that you were not on ignore, I read your post.

This is NOT a religious thread! I am deeply offended that you have assigned such a motive to my intention! What is it with you people?

I've created an ignore.txt file, which I keep a handy shortcut to on my desktop, for ignoring managment.

I just remembered why I remembered the "burning bush". It's not from my childhood at all. It was an early subject of a crayonism drawing by a well known former AW poster.

KatyD: If there's enough sex, it just might become productive...

Wow. How come no one ever told me that the Jews were the only religious followers to be persecuted for their beliefs? And why didn't anyone tell me that it was against the law to be a member of a religion and laugh at anything that even remotely references ANY religion?

Get a grip, Stusi, and stop looking for insults and slights where there are none. If anyone's protesting too much, it's you. Whatever credibility you may have had, you've destroyed all by your lonesome with your kneejerk reaction anytime anyone even remotely mentions religion.

Considering the level of religious persecution going on in the world today, I would think you'd find better targets at which to bluster and posture than at someone who posted a tongue in cheek thread topic.

oh, so it's a sex thread is it? Well, thanks for clarifying that. That's a rather personal subject, and inappropriate for a public forum where there might be "impressionable minds". I'm afraid I shall have to ignore all posts in this thread and if you continue to discuss last weeks hockey scores, I'm afraid that I will have to report you to the local Sports Authority.

uh-oh sirens going off... forbidden topic... forbidden name....

i was wondering where this sex and Bible topic was going to lead and now it's in truly dangerous territory

but hey it relates to Ebay auctions and outsider art. Maybe we could move it to the EO if the mods get nervous

you know that is not the kind of protest i am talking about. playing games of one- upsmanship and sarcasm are sometimes fun and i can more than hold my own(ask krs-on second thought maybe you shouldn't) but i know that if the tables were turned that there are many here that would take offense at certain references to their respective religions, smilies or otherwise. sleep on it after you are out of the "get stusi the spoilsport" mode and you may see a little bit of the light. goodnight all.
