As you all know, I am in Victoria, BC, Canada.
I checked your listing, Bill and it shows me that on a $7.50 item I would have to pay
$15.34 for International Priority Shipping PLUS another $3.34 in Import Fees to be Calculated at Checkout.
That is a Total of $18.68 in Shipping for a $7.50 item.
Just one of the many faults with this Program is that Canada would not be charging any Import Duties or Taxes on an item of this Value however using the Program the Buyer has to pay them anyway. Now ask yourselves...into whose pocket is the $3.34 Import charge going? Food for thought.
I have looked at many Sellers since this was introduced and have seen similar figures which really do not make any sense for low cost items on which there would be no Import Duties anyway.
There were also a number of Threads on eBay Community Boards where Sellers had jumped on the bandwagon without thinking of the consequences and then realised that they were not getting any more International Sales so they dropped the program.
On high priced items maybe it is worthwhile but you are likely to lose potential Buyers on lower priced items.

All the posts on the eBay discussion board, were posted prior to the increase in USPS postal costs to mail an international package.
Do the tariffs in Canada include charges on the shipping cost?
I have found that the U.K also charges tariffs on the shipping cost.

I didn't realise that those posts were prior to the Shipping increase. We had one too this month however if you go to the Discussion Boards and do a Search for Global Shipping Program you will find many more. I just posted one as an example.
There are no Tariffs or Customs or Goods & Services Taxes below any item with a declared value of less than $20.
Over that amount EVERYTHING kicks in, Import Tax on some but not all items, Goods & Services Taxes PLUS Canada Customs charges a Flat Fee that used to be $5.00 but I know it has increased just for the honour of checking the package.
I don't recall it including Shipping Cost too. I think Canadians would have revolted in spite of our 'kind and gentle' reputation!!

One must wonder why most mail order catalogue houses do not ship overseas?
Another approach is to encourage these overseas buyers to seek out mail forwarding services in USA operated by may be an expatriate of their own country who would accept packages and then forward to them, these expatriates know the country and customs and cities and how the localpostal system works.
I know there are some Chinese in California who does that and some one in Saudi Arabia uses a service in NYC and it works for him,

What I don't like is that if you take returns - you automatically have to cover all the return shipping cost.
If there was a way to take returns on domestic shipment but not on international - I would do that but I don't know of a way to do it.
Also when creating a listing with Vendio - would we even have the option?

Who said we have to cover all return shipping cost?
I accept 14 days return,I do not offer to pay for return shipping and I charge a restocking fee.

Sorry I misread the following:
Note: If you accept returns and your return policy specifies that the cost of return shipping will be paid by the seller, you'll be responsible for all costs associated with shipping the item back to you.
Anyway they exclude most of what I sell but it does sound interesting.

This may work well for someone selling new items,it is only fair for overseas buyers to pay customs on new items .
question-what happens if they refuse the package, then who pays for return shipping?and what if it is damaged in transit or stolen or lost on its return journey?

ebabes,
I recall 'seller pays return shipping' feature only applies to domestic returns only.
Question on global shipping-
what is on the return label, our address or the third party which contracted with Pitney and Bowles?
If the overseas buyer wants to return the item and will pay for the return shipping, does she ship the item back to the third party or to us?
If the third party address is on the return label, the buyer may return to the third party.
If so,how do we know if that third party has good record keeping to send it back to us,?
and how much would be return shipping from the third party to our address and who pays?

I've had two items ship now via GSP. I will report back once the packages arrive safely to the buyer.
Each item has to be set for GSP, so there is a bit of tweaking, but not too bad for me.
