Hi,
I do need to let you know that I have had several items damaged in shipment. The theory I have developed includes my delivery people playing kick ball with my packages before loading them for delivery to my house. Then of course after the game they need to rest so they sit on the boxes.
All kidding aside, they throw my boxes over the gate so please pack much better than you think is adequate.
Thanks,

My Reply:
Hello. The plates were shipped yesterday, well before you sent this message. I bubble wrapped the plates and they are inside a double wall box meant for fragile items with packing peanuts. Considering you have had so many problems with shipments, I would consider either contacting the shipping companies regarding their handling of the packages or purchase a shipping address from a place like the UPS Store. I do what I can, within reason to securely pack items, however if you have circumstances that create a hazard for shipments to arrive safely, this is something that no seller/business should be liable for. Also, sending this message at the time of payment can also be quite useful to the shipper.

A buyer bought an item from me before Xmas, ebay said it would take 4 days for first class mail.
But it did not arrive in 4 days,so I issued a refund.
Then it arrived and the buyer said she will keep it but she refused to pay.
When I sent her paypal invoice, she negged me for harrassing her.
I called Ebay and asked to have it removed since she did not pay.
Ebay rep said they cannot remove the neg as feedback is part of the buyer experience and words of mouth is important and it allows the buyer to express her experience of buying on Ebay and then wthout Ebay,we sellers would have no place to sell.
He said I should improve on communicating with my buyer and improve my shipping?
So I pointed out it was Ebay which shows on my item page it would take 4 days to arrive?I have no control of what Ebay is inserting to my item page.
Then he said they took that information from USPS,4 days deal.
I give up !

I would never issue a refund just because an item did not arrive in ... days. Mail is unpredictible. They would have to fight me for it. You cannot even file an unpaid request in that amount of time.

For some reason,it took 1 month to arrive, shipped dec 16th,2012 and arived jan 16th,2013.
And you cant blame Sandy as it is going to CA.
But Ebay rep's response pisses me off, when I ask him how can I get my payment ,he suggested filing a police report.
Now he said he wants buyers to have a good experience on Ebay, having a seller filing a police report is definitely not a good experience.

lost, I am experiencing a similar issue now. Shipped something on 1/21 to CA from NJ, tracking shows still in NJ as of 1/23 & no further updates(not local PO). I have contacted PO, they are tracing, but now buyer has started case with Ebay. This really stinks. If you ship something, it should get where it is going.
Why should I have to refundon something that I can prove was shipped & I am not going to insure everything I ship. I will insure in case of breakage, but not if the PO loses something!!

Unfortunately proving you have shipped is not good enough for Paypal/Ebay seller protection, you need proof that it has been delivered.
In my case,it takes 1 month to deliver a first class package, thats not acceptable.
I have been downgraded due to slow shipping to Australia,California and UK.

I think the post office is handling packages differently. My mother took a large package full of Christmas presents to her Post office at least 3 weeks before Christmas - plenty of time to get from Salem OR to Henderson NV. The USPS clerk told her that he was from Henderson and that package could go first class (not priority) mail and make it in plenty of time. When it hadn't arrived by the Friday before Xmas she asked PO to track it as she had insured it. They told her that if an item isn't sent "priority" it gets pushed to the side until there is room on a flight. So it wasn't sent the next day, or the next day etc - meanwhile all the priority packages mailed after hers were moving through the system. The package arrived a week after Christmas!

These stiories about the PO are frightening.
But, you cannot ship first class domestically if the package is over 11 oz, so I think the huge packsge must have been sent parcel post. That still should have gotten there by Christmas, but it does get pushed aside.
My package to Germany was priority, it took a month. The person said @ the PO that there was probably not room on the plane! Then get another plane, but don't take my customer's $55 and have a package sit in NY for 2 weeks!

My California buyer looked at the Ebay description of first class mail from Tx to Ca takes 4 days so she ordered it on Dec 16,thinking there is plenty of time for Xmas and it arrive on Jan 16th 2013.
Before it can get on the plane, there are also rerouting due to Sandy, packages going to East Coast have been rerouted to Puerto Rico and how many daily flights are taking off for the East Coast from Puerto Rico?
Ditto with other facilities, they may be smaller towns and do not have so many flights leaving daily.
USPS does not have its own planes,Fed Exp and UPS do,but how many of our buyers are willing to pay for FedExp or UPS shipping or even USPS priority for a small item?
I got a neg from the California buyer and Ebay refused to remove the neg citing buyer's right to express her ebay experience, but her payment was refunded and she finally receive the package and refuse to pay even though she said she will pay.
Ebay sucks, and they take no responsibility of citing 4 days for shipping, claiming they got the information from USPS website.

When I have a Yahoo shop,I charge enough on shipping and Yahoo does not take a bite off shipping,so every Xmas,I offer USPS priority for all domestic orders.
but now I am on Ebay,I cant afford to do that.

I live in NJ, no POs are still effected by Sandy unless it is a small local one & they would not be a building where items would be shipped to.
PO has too many excuses. Don't give that cr## about snow, sleet, etc. the service is sketchy at best lately.

I had a package lost during the holidays. Fortunately, my cost to replace it was only $8.00 when I resent it. Not a biggie... but I have seen way too many packages shipped incorrectly too many times at our own house.
I have had Fed Ex/UPS drop off big boxes and not even knock or ring the door bell to let us know something large arrived. When we have a sub on our route, mail sometimes doen't arrive until 7-8pm at night! To be fair, we live in the most congested areas of Portland with lots of hidden apartments, etc... but there is no excuse for a house clearly marked on the front.

FYI - the package arrived safely. Still was a funny email to get. I know I wouldn't go out on a limb and tell a seller that their packages are handled so poorly. Any issues would raise some red flags.
