If the machine is nt working for a few, then the few whiners have to find another machine.
If it does not work for more ,then machine needs to change,or it will go the way of dinosaur.
What will make Ebay change is the bottom line, when it get smacked in the face with ever rising operating costs, then it will be forced to take a look at its existing operations and make some changes.
In the past when Ebay found out Ebay store is not working,it is a parking lot for items which did not sell in auction and Ebay has to carry these items for 10 months before they are sold or removed,it started making changes to Ebay store and ebay store is now a store, not a warehouse or dumpster or parking lot for items which did not sell in auction or elsewhere.

I have learned from 10 or more years of eBay as a small p-t bottom feeding seller that whining about what eBay does or does not do does not make me a single penny.
So during free listing day's (not this one) I list my 10-20 pieces of crap, junk, trinkets, garbage and good stuff and make some extra bucks.
If other sellers list 100 or a 100,000 items and sell all of it good for them. the eBay sales machine is working stuff in money out. If the machine isn't working for you guess who has to change.

I honed my retail skill on internet, the fundamentals of retailing is the same, whether it is internet or brick and mortar.
'birds of the feather do want to flock together',sharing a venue on internet with low priced listings of keychains, resin and beads etc does not help the higher end items.
Like a mall or shopping center,a good landlord choose and mix his tenant stores so they can complement each other.
A lady who sells silver jewelry wholesale once sent me a catalogue, when I complained her prices are kind of high, she laughed and said do you know many of the so called sterling silver jewelry are not sterling 925 and the best way to find out is from the US Customs when someone tried to smuggle in suit case full of silver jewelry.
She said we sell these sterling silver jewelry to high end jewelry store,if they see them priced so cheaply next to the high end precious stone jewelry, they dont think much of the shop merchandise as a whole, both the cheap and the expensive ones.
You may say Ebay is different,it is like treasure hunting, looking for that diamond in the rough, but thats exactly what the problem is,once they find the diamond, they expect to pay the bargain basement price.
Not everyone has a rich aunt who just past away and left them all the baubles which they can sell on Ebay and take a chance of getting whatever the buyer is willing to pay.
May be someday Ebay will find a true retail visionary who will cede the low end markets to someone else ,and move upscale, thats what most industry leaders do,whether it is car,or truck,or tractor or airplane or even towels and pots and pens.
Or Ebay just want to wallow in cheap stuff for another 100 years !
