As Voters Learn More About Bush's Proposals, They Like Him Less
"It is also clear that the President's environmental policies are costing him support. The more these issues are debated and the more the public learns, the greater the damage to Bush."

Thanks, KRS for that link. I finally made the connection as to why Bush wants that baseball field on the lawn of the White House. I had no idea that his favorite movie is Field of Dreams, so that means that he thinks that he's the charater portrayed by Kevin Costner. Heck, he might even think that he IS Kevin Costner! And I now know why he is building it:
Bush whispers: "If you build it, they will come ..."

No matter what the percentages say, it is obvious that getting the information out is important, not just to those who don't like Bush, but to those who love him and think he's the greatest thing to stick to since the invention of flypaper. Not because we want their minds to be changed: anyone who agrees with what Bush is doing doesn't have one to change; but it is important that his supporters understand why they are being reviled by more and more Americans and are the laughingstock of most of the industrialized world.
So putting these threads in messageboards on the Internet will help to educate a lot of people. With the Republican-owned and controlled media, we hear darn little about all of the sneaky crap that Bush is trying to do behind our backs. This is one good way to defeat them. I hope that after reading and discussing the issues here that you'll take it to work with you, speak out about it at church, and do your part in helping us all out. We CAN make a difference by these threads and discussions!

Relatively little of the mainstream media is Republican owned or controlled. That's just a laughable assertion.

Thank you Capriole for that link. One only has to read who owns what and then go look at the list of Bush election Contributors to figure it out.
If this thread has accomplished no other thing of value than to clear up the Republican Blather Machine hype about the 'Liberal Press/Media' who do not own the mainstream media, then it's served its purpose.

I heard something real sick last night.....
Bush intends to give the Oil companies our tax money to build new refineries. Meanwhile, the Oil companies are gouging the hell out of the americans with fuel prices and receiving obscene increases in their already record profits.
I thought the reason for business profits were to build new capital.....

Nah, it's that giant sucking sound of the money >>wooshing<< out of your pockets and savings accounts and into Bush and Cheney's private bank accounts. For them, the Budget Surplus and Growing Economy means that THEY take it all! The scarey thing is how many people who voted for Bush didn't believe that this would happen. How stupid Americans can be sometimes!
The question is, is what do we do to fix it? This is only the first 100 days in office -- we can't wait until until the 2002 elections. I propose that we organiuze in our states to have recall elections for all Republican Representatives and Senators. Let's pull them from office NOW and leave Bush and Cheney as a Lame Duck! We have to do this soon, otherwise there won't be anyting left in the next 21 months!

Borillar - I know everyone keeps saying wait until the election, but I have lost my faith in elections since the takeover.
I agree we need to take some very strong action, but it seems all any one is doing (including me) is writing to our representatives, posting on message boards, and calling into talk shows. We have to do more than complain.
What has happened to our spirit? What happened to civil disobedience, marches, rallies? I want to be heard! I want to help organize a revolt. Just like the 60's, I don't care if I go to jail for it. At this point I'm ready for anything!

borillar -apparently you didn't actually read anything in that link, or research it. Fox News is about the only mainstream conservative leaning media outlet, and that's on cable. As far as who contributes to which party, it's common practice for large corporations to contribute to both parties so they can get their way regardless of the outcomes of the elections. I hope by now, you have figured that out on your own.
mark090 -gas prices still aren't as high as they were last summer during Clinton's reign...
borillar -"have recall elections for all republican representatives and Senators?"
Are you referring to the same Republicans that have controlled Congress for the last 6 11/2 years...The ones that finally balanced the budget...The ones present during this same great economic run that everybody wants to give Clinton credit for? Just curious. Perhaps there was a typo or something.

I suspect just how difficult it is for him to seperate his thoughts from all of the volumes of political machine nonsense that he's used for an opinion all these years, so his posts are still a bit of nonsense, but he is trying. Truely, this is a learning process for him and he needs the close guidance of Moderators until he can post within the Community Guidelines: I ask only that Moderators please be patient while JLPiece tries to come up with an original opinion of his own.

Good Morning Chococake!
There are a lot of very angry Americans who want to do something about the government coup last Fall. I advocate that we still do things within the rule of law, otherwise we'll be no better than they are. While they have overthrown the election and shown us how easy it is to invalidate a presidential election, they are not counting on being recalled. That is the place to start.
Americans want only a match and they'll go up quickly! They want a leader - someone who knows what to do. This is where the Democrats have sold us down the river as well, as they have done what they've been good at for the last 30+ years: sat on their butts and let the times roll over on them. They provide us no leadership at all, especially now that they stand a chance of going out of existance altogether.
So where is the Reform Party in all of this? The Republicans demolished it this last election by sending in Bucannon who did the same kind of takeover as the Bush/Supreme Court did this last Fall. Worst, Ross Perot came out in support of Bush on the Larry King Show.
But it didn't stop there either: there was no way that We, the People could have won this last Fall, since the Corporate New World Order planned our complete conquest. Bush and Cheney, anyone with half a brain figured out their part in it. It was revealed that Al Gore had lots of Oil Interests in his pocket during the election, so he was a sold-out choice as well. Even Ralph Nader turned out to have a large Oil and Gas portfolio - in the offchance that he would have been President, we would still have ben screwed. No, there was no choice then and I see no leaders now.
Somehow, we have to organize, though. We have to go and establish how recalls are handled in each state. In some states there is a petition drive and then a vote: if the politician looses, they can collect unemployment and new elections are held.
The problem there is with whom do you put into the vacate seats? Democrats? Reform Party members? Green Party members? Some new party, like the American Revolutionary Party (ARP)?
I'm with you all the way Chococakeon this and I'm also open to positive suggestions at this point from anyone who has a good idea on how to go about this.

Hello Borillar - yes you are so right about not having a leader. In the past there was always someone to motivate, and get things started on the right path. Then people unite, and the wave can be so strong it can draw in others that otherwise would not even have thought they had anything to contribute.
The Democrats are doing nothing, Gore left with his tail between his legs. Our rights are being chipped away day by day. Bush is on his way to appoint the most conservative judges he can find, and all that's being done is saying bad Bush, bad, bad Bush.
One of the saddest things is to see how young people don't care about politics. It was the college students before that really had spirit. They worried about their future, and fought for their rights. I'd sure like to see at least one good sit-in now.
What exactly does that ridiculous post about me have to do with this thread? You and I both know the truth - which you always ignore when faced with it. I've backed my beliefs up 100%, and you have failed to respond. Now cut and paste your way out of that.

In politics, as in many things, you can lead a horse or a member of the American public to water, but you can't make it or them drink.
So while the public doesn't get it at first, they soon wise up to what's going on.

>>SIGH<< you win! OK, first, nobody gives a fart about Clinton anymore. That's because he isn't president and a republican is in office.
Second, the same group of ultra-conservative lawyers (The Conservativcy or some such name I can't remember exactly right now. The ones that are still howling to revoke his license to practice law in Arkansas.) was discovered by various people in the media from people who squealed on them to have been manufacturing those "rumors" and have long since been dismissed as the politcal bunk that they were. Still, braindead people refuse to let the rumors die away, eventhough the Conservativcy came out and said,"Ha! Ha! Ha! We were only JOKING! Get it?"
Third, I absolutely for the life of me, cannot see why you feel *I* must defend Clinton! I couldn't care less about Clinton! Why you feel its my duty to answer for every crazy web site that repeats those dead accusations is beyond logic or any amount of common sense or explanation!
Lastly, of what possible relevance does Clinton have with Bush selling us out to the Corporatations so blatanly that the GOP is having shivers that they may easily loose in 2002 and never reappear? What do long dead and disproven politcal hype about Clinton have to do with Bush pulling out of the Kyoto treay, apologizing to the Chinese for something that they did, double-dealing his campaign promises one after another by back-stabbing the very voters who put him in office, for deleting the budget for renewable resources while turing that cash directly over to oil companies owned by Bush and Cheney, and so on and on and on?
Now -YOU made that connection, now YOU explain it to the rest of us! Let's see Who Fails To Answer Whom!
