Hi CVAN. I've had a hard time over the past few days getting all the way around--so got your EOA e-mail finally on its way yesterday! Thank you very much, too! Just love it when someone bids or buys--it brings encouragement for everyone.

Bidville hasn't emailed a "weekly newsletter" since February 1.

Perhaps they might help the $1-Sale get off the ground a bit themselves by sending out an email to let all their users know about it.

I have my doubts about its overall success when the "publicity" consists of a couple threads on their chatboard.

Well, wallypog has done so much work that will benefit Bidville, that you'd think they'd be in continuous contact with her asking what they can do to make the campaign a success.

BIDVILLE, YOU HAD BETTER SEIZE THIS OPPORTUNITY. YOU MAY NOT GET ANOTHER.

Are you guys crazy??????

No one ever accused me of being otherwise, LOL.

Nah, I don't think this is a completely crazy idea. I realize BidVille doesn't have huge amounts of traffic and very little advertising. However, I do feel there are a bunch of people who come to the site, maybe take a look around and move on either because they didn't find something they wanted or in the right price range.

As with the original Club 99 sale this is modeled after (sure can't take credit for being original, LOL), the sale is to encourage bidding. Even if it only brings a half-dozen new people on board it may've been well worth the time spent.

I do wish you luck, however. I'm registered with BidVille, but haven't heard a thing about it because I don't go to the chats anymore.

Thank you for your good wishes! And you did hear about it--just not on BidVille.

In all sincerity, I hope we don't hurt anyone's feelings or make anyone feel left out. I realize there are sellers who never take a look at the message boards. They list their items and go about their business. I don't know how we could go about contacting these sellers to let them know, either.

I participated in a few of the Club 99 sales on eBay. The only way I found out about it was through Honesty.

I think BidVille is one of the nicest small sites I've ever used. No, I don't list there exclusively and unless the auction industry changed drastically don't have any plans of doing that. I can say, though, for now they're one of my best bets. And amazingly enough bidding there has picked up to the point that I've actually sold four items during the last week.
