I e-mailed Pay Pal with a problem I had a few weeks ago. Basically I sent someone money who had an account, but she never activated it and refuses to enter her credit card number. She cannot collect the money or send it back to me because of this. I e-mailed Pay Pal over a week ago to try to get my money back so that I can send her a check and have not heard anything. Has anybody had a similar problem? If so, what did you do to get Pay Pal to respond faster?

See, I figured if the person I sent payment to didn't have an active account that the payment would be able to be cancelled, but I sent it to someone who set up an account but can't collect because she won't put in her credit card number. Because of this, it is not pending, so I can't cancel it. It went through and is sitting there waiting for her to collect. If she would just put in the number and send the money back I would be all set, but she doesn't want to do that. I think it is taking Pay Pal a long time to respond because of the merger with x.com. Don't get me wrong, I really like Pay Pal, I am just not sure how to handle this situation and I thought someone might know a trick.

hi, well i was pretty upset when i couldn't get ahold of them, but i had caused the problem i guess? somehow either i or one of my customers, entered acct name or wrong password 3 times,,,locks your acct don't ever do that..!cannot do anything or get to acct when locked..thank goodness some nice people of these boards suggested what it was & they were RIGHT!!after 5 days of sending emails & phoning i did get through..took care of it just like that! the nice fella was brian, so try to email attn:brian,,at [email protected],BUT THE BEST IS SIT ON THAT PHONE FOR HOURS IF YOU HAVE TOkeep trying,& redailing.,that's what did it for me.they sure need more phone support people!.if i call or email amazon.com on stuff & they anwer phone immediately, or email back in minutes! makes you feel good with that quality of service.it's wonderful
hope this helps you too.good luck, pam

It seems to me that paypal should send her a check event though she did not activate her account. If not have here request another activation notice. Good luck
Steve.

I learned a "trick" from a friend with regard to getting through to ANY company that won't respond to your emails or pick up the phone when you call (Voice mail loop, etc) Get their FAX number and take a few pages of paper and write on them something like, "I have called, emailed (and whatever else you've done) and have gotten no response. Until I hear from you, this fax will continue to loop. Then write your contact info and send it off. (To get it "started" in your fax machine, you have to insert, start to copy, then tape the ends together and voila!) In most cases, the fax number MAY be long distance, but there have been times I have been sooooo frustrated that I was willing to pay 5 cents a minute for several hours just to get a response. I've never had to wait more than twenty minutes--- their fax machine was spitting out my message over and over and over (not to mention tying up their fax line) and people took notice quickly. I am NOT directing this message at PayPal, as I've had good experiences with them thus far...am just making this as a "general" suggestion in a time when you need to get someone's attention after countless times of trying the other ways.

I looked at the Pay Pal terms and since she has not put in any information on where to send any payment to, it looks like they will return my money after 180 days if she never picks it up. I am going to continue to contact them about it and have taken the advice of my Aunt who said to just resend the same e-mail every day until it gets answered. That has worked for her in the past as well. I really like Wendy's fax idea though! I am going to have to try that when I get really mad at a company I am dealing with! Thanks everybody for all of the good advice!
