Hi all:
Why just browse the auctions when you can browse and WIN!
We at the new auctions.com (Yep, used to be auctionuniverse.com but that's now just our network) are expanding our beta testing of what promises to be the most exciting online auction promotion yet We're about ready to introduce it to Auctionwatch.
One of the things we've learned is that you don't start one of these contests unless there are a few folks raring to go. The reason is simple. If I just start putting up clues, then the first few folks see the opportunity and play and win. Other folks dropping in, well, they feel they're at a disadvantage because the others got a head start.
That's why we ask that you "sign up" for the contest. The contest becomes fair when everyone hears the starting clue at the same time. (I recommend you click on the "email notification" so you'll know that it's time to come back.)
-----------------
Next, it is obvious that it is to our advantage (actually more our sellers advantage than us) that more folks come to play.
To encourage folks to sign up and get their friends to signup too, here's what we're going to do.
1. The AW treasure hunt could start as early as 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 24 provided that more than FIVE (5) people sign up to play by then. (This board is sometimes slow so I'm counting on you, if you're interested, in spreading the word.)
If between FIVE AND TWENTY-FIVE individuals sign up, the winning prize will be $100.00.
IF TWENTY-FIVE or more folks sign up to participate, the winners prize will be $200.00
If 25 or more folks sign up to play, a second prize will be put in place.
There is no obligation other than the agreement by the folks to be a member in good standing on auctions.com. I should add that we want to make the prize awards to individuals via a credit card chargeback.

Hi all:
We'll keep this thread where it is and give folks the opportunity to sign up for a Treasure Hunt on http://www.auctions.com.
Know that it is a daunting task on our site with over 40,000 items but still, it is much easier to have one here than if we had 4,000,000
Our goal in this is obvious. We want to show off the new auctions.com site. What better way than to have folks come in and play a game of hide and seek.
The prize for victory is not extravagant -- $100 -- but it is not penny ante either.
From what I gather in my earlier experiences with this on another board, it can be fun! Gosh, imagine that.
Anyway, feel free to sign up and say that you'd like to participate this coming Sunday. (Hey, I'm taking Saturday off -- its my birthday)
