Hi Everyone and welcome to the auctions.com open house.
First, I'm going to make an effort to keep this thread at the top and you can help me do that by posting a "HI" -- kind of like a guestbook -- when you drop in.
I'll also provide some interesting links here.
For instance, one of the things I'm proud of on auctions.com is our "myauctions.com" section. To highlight this, I created a realmedia slideshow highlighting some of its features. click here to view that thread. http://www.auctionwatch.com/mesg/read.html?num=14&thread=824
We promised door prizes. So the first five people to post me their name and address at will get a rather "ripe" but new CDROM with over 100 fineart images; a new (but older 486 class) DOS-based action game or a Coke (paper) portfolio. Only one item per guest
Contest are on the line today as well!
First out read this one introducing "supersnipe" auctions where the winner is the first person to bid. The prize for the first person to decipher the clues and find the auction is $100. http://www.auctionwatch.com/mesg/read.html?num=14&thread=838
Then there's the "So you want to be a millionaire" contest! ... Well noone is going to become a millionaire today but this event is based very loosely on the TV game show. It is going to start for real at 1 p.m. Pacific (4 p.m. eastern time) and you will need to be signed up! Check it out at http://www.auctionwatch.com/mesg/read.html?num=14&thread=839
We'll also have some more discussions and, as always in the auctions.com forum on auctionwatch ... you can post your questions and we'll answer them as soon as we can! (I may beg off until tomorrow or at least later tonight after today's activities.)
That should do it ... but remember, help me keep this thread at (or near the top) by treating it as a guestbook.
Thanks,
Pat
Edited to fix UBB. I'll probably also edit this during the day for updates.

I'm trying to get the email link to work for [b]
but as you can see from the links below, I've not been any more successful here than above.
So, just copy that email address into your message and get a door prize.

APPARENTLY There was a mixup and the ad that was supposed to run did not. Oh well, we will consider rescheduling the event for later.
Since no one but the locals -- those who venture here -- knew about it, we shut down a little early this thanksgiving weekend.
You have a good weekend too!
The original post follows.
Tanya:
They were all invited in the auctionwatch.com newsletter. The ad man said 60,000 of them were distributed last Wednesday evening ... so I'm ready for a crowd.
