I currently do not have my shipping costs set to be visible on the eBay site, but I guess I'm going to have to change that, since they're going to have all unstated shipping costs at the bottom of the search. Can you please tell me what I have to do to add this, and does it effect anything else, like my check-out procedure? Thanks for your assistance.

Hello,
If you use calculated shipping and want to display the "Calculate" link:
1. You must use UPS or USPS calculated shipping
2. In My Account -> Site Specifics -> eBay and in individual listings, select the preference "I am specifying shipping costs for eBay checkout."
3. Within the same preference, select "I use calculated rates"
4. We highly recommend those selecting to specify shipping costs in this fashion also turn on the "Use eBay Checkout Redirect option". This option takes buyers from eBay's item page (PayNow button) through your Vendio Checkout.
If you use flat rate shipping and want to display the cost in search results:
1. In My Account -> Site Specifics -> eBay and in individual listings, select the preference "I am specifying shipping costs for eBay checkout."
2. Within the same preference, select "I use fixed shipping rates" NOTE: The first flat rate shipping choice will be displayed here, so you may want to ensure you list your cheapest shipping option first when creating and editing items.
3. We highly recommend those selecting to specify shipping costs in this fashion also turn on the "Use eBay Checkout Redirect" option. This option takes buyers from eBay's item page (PayNow button) through your Vendio Checkout.
Please let us know if you have any other questions about this.

I did want you said above for the Fixed shipping. However, I am unable to proceed with any listings because I keep getting the following message:
Please select a valid US insurance cost to use with eBay fixed shipping.
- Invalid fields: Insur cost
I typically use the custom area of the shipping options and I already had the custom insurance filled out. I went in also turned on the USPS insurance, but I still get the message. Am I not able to use the custom shipping fields and have the shipping costs appear in the eBay site? If I can, please tell me what I need to do.

Well, you can look at the Cookie Monster Cake Pan that has the asterisk at the end of the title. I did that one and I had that error message. So I saved that one, returned to My Account, put my settings back to the way I had them (with the specifying shipping costs on the eBay site unchecked), and re-did the listing, so I would be able to launch it. Not sure if you can see the problem when my settings are back the way they were or not.

Hello,
The problem is that you are offering fixed shipping costs with calculated insurance. Due to eBay rules, if you are offering fixed shipping you cannot offer calculated insurance (the insurance must also be fixed), when you are specifying costs for eBay checkout. You would need to either use calculated shipping with the calculated insurance, or the fixed shipping with fixed insurance.

So how does one make the insurance fixed? I clicked on the USPS when I was fiddling around and thought I made it fixed (I left that box blank), but it still gave me the same error message. Do I unclick Custom insurance then? And If I did that, then it wouldn't add it if I use the custom portion of the shipping costs, correct?

Hello,
Globally (for completely new listings) you can do this under "My Account" --> "Global Preferences" --> "Insurance" --> "US Insurance" --> in the "Cost" box [that currently contains "(calc)"] replace the "(calc)" with the fixed insurance cost.
You can also make this same change within the main listing form for new listings (or if the amount is different depending on the listing) under the "Insurance" section.

Nathan

How can you put a fixed amount for insurance? Do people do that? I don't want to charge $1.50 insurance if the item goes for $100.00! I am really confused. And if I make this change, how will this effect copies of past listings?

Hello,
Making the change globally won't effect copies of past listings. It will only effect the default settings of future new listings.
I know it doesn't make that much sense, but those are eBay's rules. If you want to offer fixed shipping and specify costs for eBay checkout, then you can't offer calculated insurance (it must be fixed).

I have had success in getting my items to show costs on eBay, however, my re-lists did not. Is there something I have to check or uncheck when I'm doing re-lists or copies of auctions that I've done prior to changing my preference?
When you are relisting an item it will use the same options that were selected when the item was originally listed. If the item was originally listed before you made the changes to your Global Preferences, then you will need to edit the listing before relisting it.
You can do this by clicking on the "edit" link to the right of the listing (after clicking the "Relist" button for the first time). This will bring you to the main listing form where you can make the changes. (Noting that you must select "I am specifying shipping costs for eBay checkout" ).
Regards,
Nathan
