We are working with the engineering team to track down the cause of slowness some of our users are experiencing currently and will report back as soon as we have any information available.

Our apologies for the inconvenience while we dig into this issue further.

Please let us know if you are experiencing speed issues outside of your usual experience, or if you notice this issue change dramatically.

Hi Christopher,

I am noticing slowness while scheduling launches and when previewing. General slowness on everything actually. I just thought it may because of 20 cent listing day.

I am not even going to try to use Vendio until I read that problems are resolved - can't afford the time.

What do you mean you are trying to track down the problem?

This is the same problem Vendio has EVERY single listing day sale on eBay.

It is NOT a mystery.

Auctions loading onto eBay can and could be slower, that makes sense (unless you got more access to eBay to help with that exact problem). BUT the actual Vendio site running like a crippled elderly snail is RIDICULOUS!

How many hamsters do you have running on wheels?

The answer is not enough!

GET IT FIXED!

Ebay is moving along quickly. If you have high speed internet, I suggest going there and listing thru your photos direct from your computer. Taking me half the time vendio was 1/2 hour ago.

Thank you for your patience while we monitor this situation. If you notice any changes in the behavior here in Vendio, please let us know.

This just seems like a continuation of the same slowness I have experienced since Monday. (Mind you, I had NO problem on Sunday- the 1st day of DST; so I have to wonder if it was the change in codes and not the DST change). Since then, anything I do- any movement from page-to-page or lanching takes aproximately 1-2 minutes. Editing an auction is draining.

There is always slowness when there is a listing special, however it usually doesn't start until the prime listing times. Unfortunately I think this special is just going to aggrivate an exisiting problem.

Now the question...do I just give up?

Hi Chris,

Yes I'm experiencing unusal slowness.

And I was just bragging to a marketworks manager on how fast and flawless vendio is when it comes to listing and checkout

This is actually the first time I'm experiencing this slowness with vendio.I'm sure it is an isolated problem.

Keep up the good work vendio!

This is NOT an isolated problem.

This happens every single eBay listing day sale.

I use Vendio every day and have over 1,000 items listed at all times. I clean our cookies, cache, history, etc, and have a brand new XPS computer with tons of extra speed and memory. I have high speed DSL.

There is NO REASON for the inner Vendio site to run this slow.

It is not eBay's fault, nor is it DST's fault. This happens every eBay sale, and has nothing to do with items loading to eBay.

Vendio does not have enough servers.

It should not take 30-45 seconds to simply copy an auction. It should not take another 30-45 seconds to delete an item, it should not take another 30-45 seconds to schedule an item.

We are paying way to much money for this crappy service.

Dear Christopher, I believe your customers are running out of patience. I know I am.
Maybe we should try Auctiva or Inkfrog, they can't be any slower than Vendio!

Well, I didn't think it could happen, but it has...

it has gotten worse.

I now can not even open any pending items nor launch them- they are just spinning and timing out.

Re: "If you notice any changes in the behavior here in Vendio, please let us know"

Again thank you for your patience while we work to correct this issue.

While the engineers are fixing this you may see a few error messages when trying to access certain parts of the website.

This is normal and all of your data will again be available as soon as the issue is corrected.

After painfully relisting over 300 items one by one in ebay (I need to change the price and that cannot be done in bulk), I decided to give Vendio another try.

I experienced extreme site slowness and bulk relist went to a blank page (again). I finally got to the control panel to see two of the items "processing" and no sign of the other 20 items. Ebay doesn't show them listed so I am assuming they never were processed but WHO KNOWS???

You really should do more than caution people about site slowness because that is not the whole story - I would say "Use Vendio AT YOUR OWN RISK" tonight is more appropriate.

Neglus,

just to confirm, you had selected 22 items to relist and when doing so the page came back as unable to load/etc?

At this point you simply backed out of the process and noted that 2 of the items were shown as processing in your pending section?

I checked your account but didnt see any other items stuck in processing mode (and those two must have already launched.)

Check your active list in Vendio first to see if you can find the items before relisting, as especially on promo days it can take eBay a while before they add your newly listed items to your sellers list or to their search pages.

If you notice items processing later tonight, if you have additional listings to submit - note that there may be delays in the eBay API by that time (they are doing pretty good thus far with the backlog)

Christopher

Currently, the process time from the "Create Listing" page to the "Listing Schedule" page is about 30 seconds.

Painful.

I'm not talking about how long the auction is sitting in processing.

I'm talking about how long it takes after I hit the "Launch Auction" button until I get the next page to come up, so I can get back to the control panel and start another listing.

Guys, I love ya, but I'm a bit put-out with you these last few days.

Daylight savings time shouldn't have been a shock; it's been planned for at least a year and even the 2007 calendars have it listed so it's not like you shouldn't have known.

Something's amiss within your servers.

Yup - I tried listing a couple of times today & it's just way slower than usual. Especially when accessing the control panel, previewing &/or shceduling auctions. I've dne all the house cleaning that usually works but no go so I guess it's up to y'all now. I appreciate your efforts -

Thanks -

Lynn

Hi everyone,

We have posted an update to our announcement regarding this issue:

http://www.vendio.com/siteupdate.html?popid=535

It appears that the problems are for the most part due to unusually high volume and response to this listing promotion. We are looking at ways to optimize performance, but because of the traffic on our site and heavy listing volume, we expect the slowness and latency to continue into this evening. I apologize for the inconvenience, and as stated in the announcement, we will continue to monitor our system throughout this evening.

Best regards,

Diana

Christopher -
I selected 22 items to relist but when I checked "Launch now" the page showed that it was "loading" for a minute or two and then showed "done" but was blank (the confirmation page usually comes up right after launch). I didn't really "back out of the process" - the process backed out on me!

When this happens (and it has happened a lot the past few days) I don't know what has happened with the items. I tried to get into pending to see but it took SO long to get to the "Control Panel" and then to "Pending" that the fact that two of the items showed "Processing" didn't tell me what happened to the other items! I finally gave up and relisted the other items on ebay because it looked like they never really launched (these are the items on my Feb 9 "unsold" list). As I have time I will move all the unsold items relisted directly through ebay to archive and import the new listings.

I don't think I will try Vendio again tonight unless you can announce issues are resolved.

Hello Neglus,

Sorry for the confusion, let me clarify.

When I stated the following:

"...the page came back as unable to load/etc?

At this point you simply backed out of the process.."

I didn't think you had bailed out on anything while it was still running properly, rather than once the system bailed out on you, you then simply went over to the pending section to see if the items were listed or not.

As for the 22 items, 2 of which you saw processing, did you notice these items in your list of active auctions here in Vendio prior to going and relisting those same items over at eBay?

Note that as mentioned in the previous reply on this specific issue, the items may have listed and you would want to check your active list here in Vendio before relisting again (regardless of where from) as it may take eBay a little while to actually add those newly listed items in your sellers list or in their search pages. (although they would have already been assigned an eBay item number.)

Regards,
Christopher

I am so disgusted! I just spent an hour trying to get items re-listed, and when I've got them scheduled and hit 'relist' they stalled out and some were scheduled and some were not. However, it did not distinguish which ones were successful and which ones weren't, so I finally uncheduled everything and deleted the who bunch, and I'll try again tomorrow. Thanks, Vendio!! I think you should compensate all Vendio users on eBay special listing days for all the money we lose when these days come around. I don't mind auctions taking a while to launch - I can always schedule early, so they launch at a decent time. But unfortunately, I can't work around the fact that I can't manuever from page to page WITHIN Vendio to get the items ready! And this, by far, has been the worst I've seen Vendio in a long time. Actually, posting to this site is the only thing that functions fairly well.

I never use my active list at Vendio because it is in no way usable for someone with 8500 listings except in searching one by one (and ebay does that). I have tried to see what they look like in my unsold list from 2/9 but I can't get in to post-sale at all (still loading after 30 mins!!!!!)

ED TO ADD: Just to let you know that I STILL cannot get in to Post Sale (and it is now 6:45 pm your time - MORE THAN AN HOUR SINCE MY LAST POST> THIS IS INSANE!

ED TO ADD (3/15): I finally got into postsale ->unsold and found the items that didn't launch there - with the original hits/bids data (those go to "0" when a listing is scheduled). I can only surmise that those items never did get scheduled. I used ebay to relist them and have now archived them in Vendio.

"It appears that the problems are for the most part due to unusually high volume and response to this listing promotion."

As I stated before, this is the case every eBay listing day sale.

What is being done, and more so what is going to be done in the future to prevent this from happening again?

NEGLUS: Re-listing through eBay is not why I pay hundreds of dollars to Vendio every year! To do that, I would have to figure out which ones are due for re-list and do them one by one. Not interested. But thanks for the thought!

And Vendio, today might be an especially difficult problem due to the eBay special, however, I have been posting this problem for the past few days - NOT just today. This site has been running very slowly for several days. There are short periods of quickness, but I have been experiencing this problem for the most part on a steady basis. I cleared my cache, as advised, but the problem remains. I do not have these problems on any other web sites. I have gone through the Internet Explorer AND AOL and I have the same problems which indicates a website problem - not a problem in my computer. Other people have also voiced this same problem. Please do something about it.
