For some reason when I upload images why are some reduced in size? I recently uploaded some jpeg images that were around 200kb in size 640x480. After the images were uploaded they were listed as being original 200kb size but when I clicked on properties they were only around 30kb in size 640x480 and were changed to ART images, not jpeg. I uploaded some jpeg images a week earlier and they were stored full size and in jpeg format like the originals. Does anyone know what is going on?

Hello,

What method are you using to upload your images? Are you uploading them by using the browse button on the Vendio website, or are you using XPress Image Publisher to upload them from a folder? The only time an image should be automatically resized on upload is if you are using XPress Image Publisher and select that option.

Regards,
Nathan

Hi Nathan,
As far as I know I am using standard images, I did not choose Xpress image publisher. I am using the browse button on the Vendio website. I tried uploading another image this morning. The image was size 213K jpeg. After uploading the file size was reduced to 30722 bytes and now appears as an ART image.
I uploaded images the same way about a week ago to a different folder and they all came out full size around 200K and remained jpeg. I don't know what could have changed?

Hello,

Please let us know the name of the image where this happened this morning, so that we can take a look at it in your Vendio account.

Nathan

Hello,

I checked this image in your account, and the file size is showing as 213K with JPG format. Where exactly are you showing that this image is now 30722 bytes and in the ART format?

Regards,
Nathan

Hi Nathan,
In file 2009-01-13 I clicked on the image title, then when the full-size image came up, I clicked properties on the image and it says only 30722 bytes and it is an ART image.

If I go to folder JAN-09-01 and click on any image name, then click properties on the image, it shows the images are full-size 200+kb and in jpeg format.

Thanks

Hello,

I followed these same steps in your account, and it still gave me the 213K in JPG format. If you haven't already, please try clearing your browser cache and see if that makes any difference. If it does not, please try using a different browser (such as Mozilla Firefox) and let us know whether or not you get the same results.

Regards,
Nathan

Thanks Nathan!
I tried your suggestion of clearing the browser cache and now I am getting correct readings of the image size and format. The problem was with my browser all the time. I didn't realize a browser could give incorrect readings of an image file size or format. I am using the AOL browser.
Thanks again for your help!
