I already have images hosted on my server...I am uploading my inventory via csv file and I am putting in the URL for where to pull my images from...BUT here is the problem...here is an example:

- I sell sports team items and I name all of my images by a certain abbreviation for the team...let's say I am going to upload Green Bay Packers items

- So I upload a Green Bay Packers Area Rug and I put in my URL for where the image is located (http://174.120.6.40/images/FM/NFL/AreaRug/GB.jpg)...now note that the actual image name is simply "GB.jpg"

- Now I go on to the next item...a Green Bay Packers Football-shaped rug and I put in my image URL for this (http://174.120.6.40/images/FM/NFL/FootballRug/GB.jpg)...now note that the actual image name is also "GB.jpg" but of course I have them structured in different folders on my server...

So the problem is that Vendio is actually saving my images when I upload via csv file and then once it has the first image "GB.jpg" that I uploaded, ALL of my Green Bay Packers products that I upload from here on out will show the Area Rug picture!

Is there any way to turn off this feature that makes Vendio save all of my images?

Or maybe some feature to turn on to allow me to use external image hosting?

I need some workaround for this...not to mention with all of the products we carry, our images folder is 608MB which is more than Vendio allows for storage anyway...so please tell me that there is a way to fix this problem.

Hello,

The CSV file that you upload has a provision for images, but this is a field just for transferring images to your Vendio account, so we can attach them automatically into the Vendio template.

To use your own images you would need to embed them with the HTML code needed to make them appear, into your item descriptions.

Otherwise if you wanted to upload the images into your Vendio account, you would unfortunately need to have images with unique filenames, as our servers host them at the same URL for your account and you cannot have duplicates.

Chris

Ok, so I guess I'll have to outsource/hire someone to rename all of my images.

So what happens when I go over the 500 MB for images that Vendio allows?

Hello,

You can upload more than 500MB of images, you just have to pay for the hosting space above that. The 500MB limit is only for the free image hosting that is available.
If you go over and stay over this limit, you will be prompted to remove some images to get under this limit or upgrade to a paid hosting plan. The hosting plans are reasonably priced though, it's worth considering as an option as the Vendio hosted images integrate better into the different parts of the templates/descriptions.

Ok good...that's no problem if I have to pay...just wanted to make sure that there was actually that option to go above.
