I scheduled to list an Olympus Camedia Digital camera tonight but it errored out with the 240 error. I tried taking out dashes in my title and description that are in the model number and relaunching but that didn't help. I tried a few different combinations but still an error. Then, I just deleted these words and symbols at the end of my title (& Remote + Cards) and replaced with the word "lot". It then launched successfully. So what's wrong with the previous combination? My "lot" does include a remote and memory cards.
There are many different reason why eBay might return error 240 for a listing. Usually you can get the more specific and detailed eBay error message by doing an eBay preview of the item in Vendio. The next time this happens, please try doing an eBay preview and see if the error message that eBay returns explains the problem. If it does not, please let us know the item that you are having trouble with at that time so that we can take a look.

Hi Nathan, I always do an eBay preview before scheduling to launch. It
didn't error out on the preview. I only noticed it when I happened to check
to see if my auctions launched at their scheduled time...one did and one did
not. I haven't had anything error out after a preview in a long time...I
remember a couple years ago or maybe it was longer, I had an auction that
didn't launch but I can't remember what the error code was (and I also don't
remember if it was in preview or after). Anyway, it was an odd one to
figure out and it took quite awhile...I don't know how I found it (really,
how did I find it) but in my description, the letters I had in the end of
one simple common word and the beginning letters of another simple common
word made some sort of code when put together that was not allowed. Is
there any way of looking up in the community forum, all my posts beyond 2
years...I think I may have asked here for help at that time. Now I'm
curious to know what exactly it was. Thanks.
Based on what characters you ended up removing, it would have been the same issue. eBay thought you were using JavaScript that they don't allow and that's why it would fail only upon actual item submission.
Unfortunately there is no way to search for older posts, but if you run into it again let me know and we can help you confirm the behavior.
