I went to revise a listing in eBay today and found an option at the bottom of the revision form that said I could automatically relist the FP item up to three times without incurring additional insertion fees.

I have a couple of questions about the "automatic relist" option that appears on the Vendio SM listing form;

1) Is this just through Vendio or is it considered an automatic relist according to ebay?
2) The FAQ says the item would be eligible for insertion fee credit every other time the item is relisted. This does not seem to be what eBay is saying. I read their automatic relist information and it seems to say that it would be FREE when the item relists up to 3 times. (so in effect, a 30 day FP item would cost for original insertion and relist for free 3 times afterwards)Am I understanding this wrong?

3) I tried to use the automatic relist option on a couple of my recently listed items and I got the curvy recycle arrow on the side of the item when launching. However when I went to eBay to check, the box to check for auto relist at the bottom of the revision form was unchecked. Is it set up for auto relist with eBay?

I'd appreciate answers pretty soon before I set up my eBay site specifics with an auto relist - I have lots of free FP available for a couple more days and would like them to make use of the ebay free relists if possible. TIA

Bump! Yoo - hoo Vendio! Are you still there? Someone else is asking this question on the eBay forum too.

Hello,

Thank you for writing in. You can setup your "Auto relist" options on Vendio Under My Account> Site specifics>eBay page. Your listing closes without a winner you can have it automatically relisted to eBay. Check 'Enable Auto Relist' below to enable this feature and set the desired number of times that you want this listing to be relisted (as long as the item stays unsold). eBay's current Auto Relist policy is:

Relisting an item automatically

You can easily set up your listing to relist automatically.

When you relist your item automatically:
Your item is relisted up to 3 times if it doesn't sell.
Each time your item is relisted, the duration of the listing will be the same as the prior listing period for that item.
You can revise your listing at any time during the relisting period. Our rules on revising listings apply. Learn more about restrictions on revising listings.
After the first insertion fee for the listing, you aren't charged additional insertion fees for the relisted item.
Aside from the initial listing, automatically relisted items don't count toward your monthly free-insertion-fee listings. (For example, if you list an item and it automatically relists 3 times, it counts as one free-insertion-fee listing.) Learn more about free-insertion-fee listings.
You're charged the fees for any advanced listing upgrades you selected each time your item is relisted.

Thanks for your reply. After the 3rd relist will the item relist automatically and then relist another 3 times if not sold? If we end the item on eBay does it relist or is that the end of the relisting cycle? Thanks.

Thank you for writing in. When the Auto relist is done on Vendio, the item will continue to relist as many times as it is set to relist in the Auto relist settings on the My Account> Site specifics>eBay page. I f you end the item on eBay the Auto relist cycle continues.

I quickly changed a few auctions that were ending today to auto relistx3 via the Active Item Control Panel. The first item relisted but it shows a fee on eBay. Will I get a relist credit? It looks like they reference the id# of the ended listing. Here is a screen shot (First item shown "Indian Turquoise Driller postcard":

I also think I might have made a mess of a couple of listings that I revised to show auto relist on eBay. One of them tried to launch on Vendio and is showing as a Pending Error. I have to do more investigating to figure out what happened and might need help in straightening it out. Thanks

So, I investigated the two items that I had revised to auto relist on eBay through "revise your item". The first one was set to relist on Vendio, the other wasn't. The items relisted on ebay this am :
Item # 151392488648 (relist of item # 161398033027)
Item # 151392488648 (relist of item # 161398028618)

Both items appear with my unsold items on Vendio. I must have indicated the first item was to be relisted on Vendio too and appears as a reject in my pending Control Panel.

Thinking I needed to import these listings so I can track on vendio, I tried to "track" them on the import feature but the listings were not found.

Also, the listings appear as active on my items for sale on eBay, but do not appear as a charge on my account activity which is different from the way the Vendio relist was shown (see above).

I don't think that items relisted through Vendio's auto relist feature qualify for eBay's 3x's free auto relist feature. Only the items I relisted for the first time look like they may receive a relist credit (same program eBay has had in place forever) - I am being charged for others with link to an item number or not that they are being relisted.

Can you check with your engineers? There is a new box to check when listing directly on eBay at the very bottom of the listing that indicates the item will be relisted for free. This box is not being checked when we list through Vendio.

I believe the Vendio auto relist is behaving as before, relisting the item and not as it should to qualify users for the 3x's free relists.

Here is the auto relist box on ebay form (this screen shot is taken from an item that relisted automatically through Vendio, but as you can see, box is not checked.)

Hello,

The tools were designed to take maximum advantage of the original relist credit rule, where only the second time around (the first relist) would qualify for free relisting credit (if it sold this second time around.)

The way this works is you submit a NEW item and if it doesn't sell it gets sent back up as a RELIST. If the RELIST doesn't sell and you click to relist it again, we send is up as a NEW item again.

This was done so users would get the maximum number of opportunities to get that relisting credit, Vs sending every relist back up as a true relist. (there's users who also claim it helps in best match ranking to send items up anew Vs as relists over and over again when they aren't selling.)

Sorry for any confusion on this matter. It sounds like something new would need to be built in order to support this option at eBay. I cannot yet confirm if this is something that is available in their API for 3rd party listing tools or if it's exclusive to users posting from the eBay tools directly, but we have passed along a request to evaluate and consider supporting for a future update to the tools.

Regards,
Chris

Thanks so much Chris! This is something new and ebay must handle the relist in a special way because now I can't track the items on Vendio that relisted directly on eBay. I think I might have to end those items

Chris - Can you please check into whether or not Vendio will be supporting the ebay auto relist feature ASAP. This is costing us serious money and there does not seem to be a work around.

Also, FP (not GTC) listings are eligible for relist credit, but it appears when I relist through Vendio (not using the auto feature) the relist says that the item is not elgible for relist (because I don't believe they were eligible for credit initially). When the item relists through Vendio, does it link to the previous listing or launch a copy? This is also costing me lots of $$$ if a copy is launched when the item is eligible for free relist.

Is Vendio continuing to support Sales Manager or is it not being developed further? I think we should be advised if that is the case.

I really have a mess! Can you help me?? I have items that I revised directly on eBay to take advantage of the three free auto relists (I stopped as soon as I found out what was happening on vendio so there can't be that many). When I try to relist the original unsold item on Vendio, I get an error in my pending panel that the item was auto-relisted so the item won't launch (thank heavens so I don't get a duplicate listing!)

The odd thing is that I can't track the active listing on Vendio - when I try it says that the item number is not found on the site. Apparently I can't undo the autorelist on the ebay revision form (auto relist box is not there). I archived the original unsold listing on Vendio.

We really need to be able to take advantage of this eBay "gift" - would save us lots of listing fees! Are you working on this?

Thanks toyspast and I guess that 'splains it. It certainly would have been more comforting to get an answer from Vendio to assure that they were on top of it or an explanation that is was just a test or promotion... 12 days without an acknowledgement of the post is rather disconcerting.
