This is something that I've always wondered about so I'll ask. Why can there be such a difference between Page Views on eBay and actual hit's I see on my Vendio counter? I get that eBay will count all views and Vendio is supposed to only count each unique user, but sometimes the numbers are so lop-sided that I cannot understand. For example, Item #312176044820 has 25 pages views and had zero Vendio hits on the counter until I visited and now it registers one. How can that be? Please explain.
Thank you for writing in.Please note Vendio will count hits differently depending on which type of counter you have selected. If you are using the Smart Counter type then the page view is only counted once per unique visitor (if the same person views the page 20 times it is counted as one view). If you are using the Simple counter type then all page views are counted, even if is the same person and the page is refreshed (if the same person views the page 20 times it is counted as 20 views).
If you added the Vendio counters after the eBay counters then this could cause the counts to be different. If you are using a different type of counter for Vendio (for example, counting only unique views on Vendio and counting all views on eBay) then this could cause the counts to be different. Unfortunately we do not have visibility into how eBay is calculating their counts. If you have tested going to a listing and the Vendio counter does not count it correctly please let me know so that I can take a look.

You should be able to see what kind of counter I have. I believe its the Smart Counter as I made mention that it only counts a unique user. It launches with my listing. It's not added later (unless you guys add it later). I still don't understand how I can have 25 page views on eBay and only register one on Vendio (when I looked). I have even had times when someone has purchased my item and it shows zero hits on Vendio. How can that be. They have to go into the listing to purchase. I rely quite a bit on the accuracy of the counters so I figured I should follow up with this issue. Thanks for your time.
Thank you for writing in.Unfortunately we do not have visibility into how eBay is calculating their counts. We will need an example of an item where the Vendio counter did not count a hit properly, so that we can take a look. Please let us know the listing number for the order that you received that showed zero hits on Vendio. Please let us know if you have any questions.
