Hi,

I haven't been listing auctions lately as I've been rather busy with the rest of my life. But I've noticed a lot of discussions in the eBay Outlook about people concerned with the new eBay "Checkout" feature.

I'm assuming that AW will be adding support for this feature at some time in the future. I realize these things take time to program but was wondering if you have an approximate release date for supporting this new eBay feature.

In the meantime, I'm almost happy that I don't have time to list any auctions until eBay finishes testing and implementing it. It's kinda like buying software from a well known and very large company that produces a very popular operating system. Why pay to be a beta tester...

Hi,

I came here to ask the same thing. I need to list auctions today, but I don't see anywhere on the form where I can fill in the checkout information. When will this be available and what happens in the meantime if I still list through AW? Thanks.

Hi AW,

I have found that we must go to each individual eBay listing & go through the REVISE ITEM procedure, then add the shipping & insurance there, or else it will show up as ALL ZEROES. I have already had a buyer send me purchase price only because of the $0.00 under shipping and insurance within the CHECKOUT information. I can do it for my 25 items, but for more volume sellers this would be too time-intensive...a nightmare. PLEASE HURRY....WE NEED YOU!

Thanks,
Joette

I too would like to know it this tool will be available soon. It seems to be added to some of my auctions already and I don't know how. I am assuming it is a trial on ebay's part. Please let us know ASAP when this option will be available!

Thanks

Lhobo,

eBay is adding checkout to the end of all our auctions, but Auction Watch has not given us the means to fill in the checkout info yet. This is causing problems because our checkout info. is showing up as $0.00 shipping and I have read at least a dozen horror stories already this morning about buyers paying only for the final bid price and refusing to pay shipping charges.

Also, why has noone from AW come along to answer this yet? I rarely come here, but I see customer service is not any speedier then it was before. I realize you all at AW are busy, but your users would appreciate being kept informed. Thanks.

I agee Lisa! I am a little disapointed with AW myself. As a power seller I would like to get this cleared up so I don't have to go through all of my auctions seperately!!!!!!

Having the same problems as described above. People are paying but not paying for shipping. This gets very hard to explain to customers again and again. Please help!

Hi everyone,

I apologize for the delay in my response. We realize the importance of supporting eBay checkout. We will be implementing this feature as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and for your support.

ebay, which apparently is trying to put auctionwatch and paypal out of business, certainly is not going to make it easy for AW to interface, even after AW made the deal with the devil a couple of months ago. Sorry, but ebay has made me a class A cynic.

hi
maybe i am missing something here ?

Hi stacyp,

There is no location anything will show up as 0.00, however there will be a space at the bottom of auctions where information could be entered to tell the buyer what the shipping totals would be. If you do not enter anything into those boxes, nothing shows up, it does not say that shipping is free or 0.00.

This is totally unrelated to the WBN.

Christopher,
I believe you're not seeing it because it shows up AFTER your auction, on the listing page. Buyer is instructed to click Checkout for total information, then when you click on Checkout, and it shows the selling price, and the 0.00's. It's definitely there.

Christopher........RECANT ON THAT RESPONSE...........Sorry, you were referring to WBN, not Checkout, so never mind. A different subject came in the middle of the Checkout subject, and I got confused. Sorry.

We definitely need the option for "NOT PROVIDING CHECKOUT INFO" -- I cannot list anything until this is there -- I won't be using Checkout.

Hi peiklk,

That is one of the biggest problems with this new checkout feature eBay is "offering" - you cannot opt out of it.

Regardless if you plan to use it or not, there is no option to have those boxes show at the bottom of your listings.

I would suggest joining in with the chat that is currently scheduled at eBay from 6-7PDT at http://chat.liveworld.com/events/chat/ebay - to voice your opinion on this issue.

We are currently working with eBay engineers to resolve issues related to eBay checkout. Shipping fees are incorrectly being set to $0 when the Billpoint payment option is enabled. eBay will be making modifications to the interface this evening that will allow us to address this problem. We will provide an update on this problem in the morning, after eBay has completed their update.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.

Auction Watch,

Thank you all for your responses and updates. I truly appreciate being informed of what you are doing about the situation. Sorry that eBay has done this to us all. It really stinks.

By opt out, I mean the radio button where you tell ebay you are NOT providing checkout information.

At the bottom it will then say: "Seller will provide these details in the item description or after the listing ends." in the Checkout Details section.

We can go manually do this, so we should be able to have it done by default.

Hi -- from testing this afternoon, it appears that if you don't enter checkout information, eBay provides the following statement:

"Seller will provide these details in the item description or after the listing ends."

Under this statement will be listed the series of checkout fields, but in them will be dotted lines instead of 0.00.

If you notice anything different after launching your auctions, please let us know.

Regards,

Diana

Hi Lennonhall,

Unfortunately I do not have an ETA as to when this will be available. As you can see from previous posts, engineering is working on implementing the checkout feature as soon as possible. We will keep you updated.

I just had an auction end with Buy It Now, I did NOT enter any checkout information, and Ebay kindly filled it in as 0.00 shipping, even though there were dotted lines while the auction was live. Is there anything that can be done about this? The seller is refusing to pay the shipping charge because it was clearly stated in the checkout that there was no shipping charge.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly welcomed.

Peace,
Paul

I tried to go this route and on every auction that I tried to revise, after I made the revisions and clicked submit, I got a "cannot find page error". Has anyone else experienced this and is there a work around for it?

Peace,
Paul

REPLY TO PAUL:

Hi, this is Joette. I don't know why you haven't been successful. I have changed each and every one of mine, and it does work, so keep trying. I have never received an error message like that. Make sure you check the box I Do Want To Leave Instructions (just before you fill in the shipping amount). Other than that, I don't know. Sure do wish AW would put a big RUSH on it for us.

FURTHER SUGGESTION: I am putting within the "Return Policy" section, that if they prefer Paypal, to check OTHER in the checkout section, then to click the Paypal logo below the listing. Hopefully that will catch some buyers that do prefer Paypal, even though it's not openly offered.
Good Luck,
Joette

spoolmak,

You might want to wait 3-4 minutes when revising listing before hitting the continue button.

Well 2 BIN this am - 2 payments without the shipping - only amounted to 40 dollars.

Of course, they don't get a WBN with the correct shipping either, as we have to go in and manually force those to go out.

As far earlier posts from AW in this tread it says that a -- will show in the shipping which is true - until the auction ends then a big fat 0.00 is in the shipping amount. So wow the customers pay nothing.

From a different thread AW tells me others are asking ebay to offer an opt out option. Well, if AW is waiting to see if that happens I will be very upset. Checkout should be included NOW, acutally should have been in our listings last week.

I will still be using AW PSM, even though this checkout is there. So what is the problem with implementing it. I am in the process of revising my auctions - which is no easy task, as auctions listed with AW are near to impossible to revise without getting page errors.

This is a prime example of very shoddy service by you AW. I am very disappointed in the quality of service you have offered.

Everything is always a huge undertaking when you need to revise something with ebay. I have to list my store items manually, and now have to revise every auction I list with you - so what are my benefits of using your service? If you would like to fill me in on this, I would be happy to listen.

TIP ON REVISING FOR "CHECKOUT": Remember that after you click CONTINUE, you must go the bottom of the next screen and click SUBMIT. Perhaps the error messages are because of that last step not being done. Try it.

Good Luck, while we wait for AW to get it fixed for us,
Joette
