Hi there-

I have already brought this to the attention of Ebay and Auctionwatch, but I wanted to see if other users have encountered this.

I had two pictures for a repeat auction of mine. Finally, all inventory was sold and haven't used it. I rarely check my AW billing, but did last month. I noticed image hosting fees associated with the images from an auction I haven't relisted in over four months.

After further investigation, I have found that a seller has linked to my images for 4 months - at $0.20 per auction and many relistings.

I have never had an image hosting only item before this bum seller - so it really stands out.

AW says they will refund my fees. I didn't know how long this had gone on when I contacted them. Has anyone had any experience with this? Is AW true to their word? What do I need except a print out of my billing and totals?

Thanks for any help.

This happened to me about a month ago.

Someone had hired help to build their listings. Apparently it was easier to scam someone else's images than it was to scan the real thing.

Anyway, I filed for a refund on each of the 8 images (pointing out that the listing was not mine) and got the "3 week" canned e-mail reply.

Sure enough, within about a week, the refunds were issued - no problem.

Definitely go back through all of your invoices. It's easier to download them to CSV, load them to Excel and sort than it is to view online.

If you haven't found it, here's the link you need to request refunds: https://secure.auctionwatch.com/my/acct/request_refund.html

I'd suggest having two browser windows open: one so you can copy the AW reference number from your invoice and the second to log the refund request.

Good luck!

Hi Backyarddave,

I just wanted to clarify that we will issue refunds in this case -- since we do process refunds over a three week period you may not get them right away, but as long as you provide the reference number as proof you'll get refunded.
