In post sale we have buttons that do all kinds of stuff for notifying buyers. WBNs, Payment reminders, shipment notices, feedback reminders...
I think we should have a "Payment Received Notification" or something to that effect. It's a standard template email that would be sent to the buyer when we receive a payment, and input that payment in the post sale screen.
All other correspondence is automated, this should be too. It sure would be nice to get a money order or PayPal payment, enter it in, and click a button that send an email to the buyer letting them know that the payment has been received for X amount, for X items, and it would ship soon. Doing that manually for a large number of auctions is frustrating.

icebox13, suggestion.
I've edited my shippng notification feature to be a payment received notice. Instead of saying it "has been shipped" I say "it will be shipped" and put the date. The beginning of that form does say "payment received".
Hope this helps.
ps: I don't know if any of you have problems with your customers, but I do. The amount that automatically gets put into this form is for "purchase price" only, it does not include other costs like shipping / insurance etc., therefore is not a true reflection of total payment received. I have to edit that amount each time. Something to think about AW.
