I've been using AW for about a year now and am consistently surprised to log in, begin work and -- like today -- find new features with no pre-announcement that they were going to be launched, no announcement that they have been launched, and no instructions as to what they are or how they work.

Why does that matter? Well, in filling out WBN responses today, I was on about the fourth one when I saw the little check box (with check mark) on the "Mark as Paid" page to send a notice to the buyer that payment had been received. Nice feature, but I would have liked to have been forewarned about this feature before I unknowingly sent payment-received notices to people whose payments I received more than a week ago (checks I was waiting to clear). Sure makes me look bad when they can look at their bank account and see the check has cleared, then get a notice from me that makes it look like I just received their payment.

And I also see the redesigned fulfillment page with all the little icons. So where do I find out what these icons mean? I go hunting for an announcement, but there isn't any. I finally get a little information from a response to someone else's comments about the new features (which, incidently, do look helpful, although I'm still not sure what they all do or even if I've seen them all).

What is so hard about telling us what you're doing before, or at least when, you make changes?

Hi Abqsales,

An announcement about these features will be posted shortly. Normally, we time the announcements to be posted at the same time as a release.

If you put your mouse over the icons you'll see a little box pop up that tells you what it does. You can set the defaults for the auto notices in Post Sale Management Options.

Regards,

Sonya

I see the announcement has now been made.

Don't understand the thinking behind timing the announcement with the release (since, like today, the announcement almost always comes afterwards).

What is wrong with saying "Hey, gang, on Monday we're going to do this" and then on Monday posting another announcement that you've done it? Do you get penalized for posting too many announcements or something?

Incidently, mousing over the icons didn't give me any information.

At any rate, thanks for the features -- they do look quite helpful.

I agree, I would like to be warned about changes AHEAD of time. I discovered that with these changes a dollar amount is not inserted into the notice that is sent saying the item has shipped.
I cannot figure out how to preset this so this does not happen. I DO NOT want a dollar amount in there as quite often it is different because of shipping. Is there any way to keep this from appearing. I don't really want to have to open every notice before I send them to change it.

Hi Cococgld,

You can remove any of the identifiers in Post Sale Management Options. You can also change the wording for your notifications there.

abqsales -- I apologize, I meant that putting your mouse on the icon tells you what that icon is. To see what each one does and to edit the notices and your settings if you choose to have them automatically send, go to Post Sale Management Options. Let me know if you have any questions about this feature.

Regards,

Sonya

Also, the changes completely wiped out my customized Shipment Notification template, which is the only AW message I use.

After I re-edited and saved the template, however, I found it only would apply if I just wanted to send the message without changes (which I never do).

If I click on the "Edit" message icon, the AW template still comes up, instead of my customized one.

This is very annoying!

I tried to edit the message in the options and I do not see anywhere where that $$$ amount is even there to remove. Yet it is appearing in the post sale message. How does it get there?

Hi Cococgld,

It is the %%ClosePrice%% identifyer. Any place you see that in the notifications, you should remove it, if you do not want the price to appear.

Sonya

MrWriteLA, I think the behavior you're describing is a bug--we're investigating it further.

While we're dealing with bugs. Where is my sales tax calculator now. From what I can tell I no longer am charging any.
