Hallo.
I am writing because of AUCTIONWATCH REPEATED SYSTEM OUTAGES!!!! Yesterday was the last one in order of time, but it lasted during the WHOLE ITALIAN DAY, causing me not only a lot of time lost, but also probably a lot of money in order of bids which never arrived and your fees!!

First of all, AW OFTEN HAS THESE SYSTEM OUTAGES, BUT NEVER MENTIONS THEM IN THE SYSTEM ANNOUNCEMENTS!!!
I am SURE it was NOT my computer, because I checked other auctions of other sellers, and no pictures were showing either...
PLUS, I rebooted the computer many times during the day, connected and disconnected from Internet, therefore it could NOT be my computer, considering also that other (and many) sites I visited were working properly and all the pictures were showing right!

Did anyone else had the same problem?!

I hate this fact that AW acts like nothing happens, and if someone tries to write them about this, they just say it’s our PC’s problem!!! Not true at all!!

I COULDN’T EVEN ACCESS THE HOMEPAGE FOR THE WHOLE DAY LONG, YESTERDAY!!! It gave blank and said that server was down!!!

Then, eBay had a 3 day penny gallery offer, from the 22 to the 24.
I was too busy on 22 and 23, but the 24th I wanted to RELIST some items which went unsold the first time.
At the moment to do so, the AW system was down!!
NOT FOR SHEDULED MAITAINANCE!!!
I got to relist the items through eBay, and guess what?! I just checked my online statements on your site, and I was CHARGED $0.10 FOR EACH IMAGE ADDED TO MY AUCTIONS!! I thought it could at the worst be $0.10 for each auction, instead it’s $0.10 for each image, and considering I was OBLIGED, in order to use the eBay offer, to list those items through the site, and not through AW's BECAUSE OF YOUR ITS SYSTEM PROBLEMS, I AM SURE I HAVE THE RIGHT OF CREDIT FOR THOSE FEES!!!!!
I didn’t know they would charge me those fees! I thought since the auctions relisted were previously listed through this site, and had their templates, etc., they would realize they were lunched from this site, and I would not be charged the fees... INSTEAD, WHAT A SURPRISE!!!

I want those fees to be credited back again! They are $1.50 in total! HEY!!
Definitely not worth eBay’s gallery!!!
ESPECIALLY BECAUSE I COULDN’T USE THE EBAY’S GALLERY, AT THE END, BECAUSE HAVING LISTED THE ITEMS WHEN AW's SYSTEM WAS DOWN, eBay didn’t see the pictures. They alerted me, but I had to manually go to the site (eBay's auctions) and include always the link FOR EACH IMAGE FOR EACH AUCTION... but since AW's system was down for a long time when I listed the items, and yesterday ALL THE ITALIAN DAY LONG (more than 14 hours!!!), I could just find time to add again a FEW of the pictures... BUT I WAS CHARGED FOR THE FEES, EBAY CHARGED ME ITS, and at the end you know what?! In the gallery, when seeing my list of auctions on, just 3 or 4 auctions had the image really showing!! The others were not!!!
Therefore: WHY DID I ASKED FOR THE GALLERY, if AW's system was not working and didn’t show the images in the gallery?!
WHY DID THEY CHARGE ME THE FEES FOR HOSTING IMAGES, when the pictures on gallery and inside my auctions WERE NOT SHOWING!!?
AND last but not least, considering the fact that yesterday many of my auctions ended and no pictures were showing all day long, till when they finished, can you imagine how many people possibly visited the auctions but seeing no picture, didn’t bid on them?!

I want an explanation for all this, and I want a refund for those $1.50 of image hosting!!!
And I want that AW asks for apologies on the system announcements when this happens, and considers working seriously on these problems so that they won’t happen anymore!!! Consider that they also have some hours on Fridays for System Maintenance... I think they should work better, considering the money they take from us the sellers!!!

>YOU SHOULD TAKE CARE OF YOUR JOB BETTER...<

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Miss Pilar.

Hello tombolino,

I am sorry that you could not access our site yesterday, but we were not experiencing any technical problems. The problem is most likely related to general connectivity from your ISP. The next time this happens, please try to do a traceroute to see where the packet loss is occurring. To do this, go to Start -> Run, and type tracert www.auctionwatch.com in the traceroute field. Email the results to [email protected] so that we can take a look. You might also want to contact your ISP and see if they can figure out where the problem lies.

Thanks,

Diana
