Hello,
Please note that all our hosted images on ebay are NOT LOADING or loading extremely slow when choosing to view each auction.
All our computers are experiencing the same problem so it's not our our end. Also all other websites and browsing capabilities are excellent except for our hosted pictures.

Please provide a quick fix to this issue!!

Hello regencyrugs,

I notice that your pictures are good quality, high resolution pictures - they all seem to exceed 175 kb. Unfortunately, when you have images that size they can tend to load slower depending on network traffic, and general connectivity.

I don't believe that there is any technical issue on our end that would cause the images to load more slowly than normal, so I would imagine that it is a network issue. Generally, these clear up on their own, but if you continue to experience the problem later in the day please let us know.

Thanks,

Diana

Hello Diana,

Please DO NOT take this lightly. We have pictures at less than 175 and they are not loading as well.
This has been going on now for about 5-6 hours. We have LOST many sales due to this issue. We have never experienced a problem like this before. Please forward this issue to your technical department and keep me posted as this issue NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED!!

Hello regencyrugs,

Are you still having trouble with this? If so, please try this:

1. Go to Start -> Run
2. Type in tracert -d imagehost.auctionwatch.com
3. Let us know the IP address of the last entry (this should be 66.7.130.10)

If the tracert disappears and you are unable to copy the results, please try using a different tool, which is available for free download - this is a tracert tool that can be used to monitor your connection with any internet site. Here is the URL to download this tool (WinMtr):

http://www.webattack.com/get/winmtr.shtml

Be sure to save the WinMtr.exe file to you desktop. Once this is downloaded, open the application and type imagehost.auctionwatch.com in the host field. Let the trace run for about 1 minute, then stop and post a copy/paste of the results to us. This will help us determine if and where any packet loss is occuring.

Thank you for your patience.

Diana

Hello Diana

This problem seems to be affecting our network of computers. Outside the network our pictures are viewable. Whats strange is that no settings were changed and nothing was downloaded for this to occur.
Another strange thing is that our pictures are showing up on AOL's IE and NOT on Netscape or the non-aol IE which is what we use.
Please help us resolve this issue as quickly as possible. It would be VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.

The following are the results of the packet test:

Another note that I would like to add is that everything comes up fast and ok except for the pics.

When opening a page the picture seems to want to open and about the top 1/4 of the picture opens although you would have to wait longer than usual, but after a 1/4 the picture stops although the toolbar still shows that there is 1 item loading but does not.

It's almost as if the our pictures are sort of restricted to us where the pictures show about a 1/4 of the way through and then stops.

I hope this helps in determining the solution.
thanks

Hello regencyrugs,

It appears that you can view images, but they just take a long time. When
this happens, it generally means some packet loss somewhere. Since the bulk
of our site traffic is presently fine then this is likely isolated to your
system or your ISP.

This type of problem can also be caused by your modem being physically too close to another computing unit. Placing the modem far away may help the problem.

A way to verify this type of problem is to do full length packet pings:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
C:\>ping -l 1472 -n 100 -f www.auctionwatch.com

Pinging www.auctionwatch.com [66.7.130.14] with 1472 bytes of data:

Reply from 66.7.130.14: bytes=1472 time=20ms TTL=61
Reply from 66.7.130.14: bytes=1472 time=20ms TTL=61
Reply from 66.7.130.14: bytes=1472 time=20ms TTL=61
Reply from 66.7.130.14: bytes=1472 time=20ms TTL=61
------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the above example we show that we can send packets of 1472 bytes long
(1473 bytes will be too large and will require fragmenting, which is
inhibited when using the -f option).

Please try running the above step for a while to see if using longer packet
lengths impact the ping time. If it does, try reducing the -l size from 1472 to around 50. If ping time improves, that indicates some issues with your modem through to your ISP.

Thanks,

Diana
