I noticed that inventoried items can be assigned a cost. When I archived and exported to an excel spreadsheet I didn't see "cost" as one of the fields. Am I missing something? It would be great to have the cost as well as selling price to determine profit from the sale.

The cost field is for inventory purposes only -- when you launch from your inventory, you determine the starting price of your auction in the Auction Information tab. When you download your archive you should see the cost for the auction in there, but it is entirely different from the one in inventory's basic information tab.
