I'm using CSS in my auction code, and have noted that SM Pro seems to be stripping out a specific section - in my code, I have:

a.navbar:link {color: #000000; text-decoration:none}
a.navbar:visited {color: #000000; text-decoration:none}
a.navbar:hover {color: #33ccff; text-decoration: underline}

And then later I use it with the link

<a href="#payment" class="navbar">Payment Policies</a>

And so on. Problem is, when it is actually put through SM Pro, it changes the link to

<a class=customlink href="#payment" >Payment Policies</a>

So of course the CSS coding does not work. What's up with that? How do I get around it?

Hi there,

I'm not sure why your code would be changed like that. When do you notice that it's been changed? Before the listing launches (while still in Sales Manager) or after it's actually live on eBay?

Thanks,

Diana

Thank you for your quick reply.

I am using SM Pro, and I can look at the code in the description (under "Basic Information" for the listing) and it's fine there. But when I look at it in the preview window (or the enlarged preview) the output is such that it is obviously not using the coding as I entered it - it looks just like it does when it hits eBay. If I take the same code and put it into a html file and preview it in IE, it looks fine.

As a followup, I have isolated the problem to SM Pro. If I change the code to where the style definition is

a.customlink:link {color: #ffffff; text-decoration:none}
a.customlink:visited {color: #ffffff; text-decoration:none}
a.customlink:hover {color: #33ccff; text-decoration: underline}

But keep the actual link as it was originally:

<a href="#returns" class="navbar">Returns & Refunds</a>

It works - so SM pro is changing the class on the link from "navbar" to "customlink".

Hmm - you have me stumped. I'll have to escalate this one to engineering as I really do not know what is happening. I'll have someone get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks,

Diana
