There is something perverse about having two methods of launching (on-line inventory and SM Pro), each having features the other doesn't. And they can't talk to each other.
If you want cross merchandising then you have to use on-line. However, on-line takes forever to launch and God forbid you want to change the days of an auction from 3 to 5 if you have a few hundred auctions.
On the other hand, if you want to just try another category with SM Pro, your headers get wiped out. What difference does it make to a buyer, if he/she found the auction in "action dvds" and the header says "drama"? Once they are in the auction, the only thing the buyer needs the header for is to find out if the item is new.
The other day I had to use old batch in SM Pro in order to take advantage of the Ebay fixed price deal. I certainly could never change the term of auction from 3 to 5 to 7 to 10 on hundreds of auctions in on-line intenvory. Literally, that would take me days to do. Unfortunately, some prices had changed as had the shipping charges from what was in that old batch.
Not only do you have to open an on-line item, you have to also open the Ebay page within the item. That would mean I'd have to access over a thousand pages to launch 300 auctions for the 3.5.7.10 deal mentioned above.
And you can't launch more than 20 at a time without getting an error page whereas SM Pro can to 1000 auctions in 10 minutes or less.
Also, there is no simple way to synch on-line and SM Pro. So if you make changes in one, you have to do the same in the other.
I might as well be dealing with two different companies whose software does not recognize the other's.
There are a few other things that one can do that the other can't. This is sadistic.
