Something changed within the last couple of months or so when I right click and I try to save a picture or a gif it is being saved as Bitmap (*bmp) and not jpeg. Is there any way to get it to save to jpeg again. I know I can re-edit the pictures with my photo softwear (which takes up extra time) but the gifs will not animate.

Hello,

First, where are these images originating from that you are trying to save them from the web? Second, check to see if you can simply change the lower dropdown menu part when you click to save something where it shows what it will save as, perhaps you can simply designate what format to use and your browser has changed to bitmap as its default.

Christopher

Yes I am trying to save free gifs from the web to add to my auctions. Even if I try to save a picture someone sends me in a email it is saved as bmp. A friend of mine started having the problem at the same time. It must of been some kind of update that we down loaded.
The drop down only gives me the same option Bitmap (*.bmp) I don't know where to go to change my browser as a default. I am so afraid that I am going to screw something else up on my computer if I click on the wrong thing. How do I get to the setting for the default?

Hello,

Try going to the windows update site and checking to see if there are any updates available for your machine. Unfortunately this is outside of our suite of tools and do not have enough troubleshooting tools available to work you through this browser specific issue.

If any other users have tips on making changes to your IE software in relation to formats being saved, it would be appreciatted.

Regards,
Christopher
