Hi. I need some help. Someone on Ebay listed an auction for the same item I currently have listed. This seller has stolen my pictures! I took the time to take the photos myself instead of taking them from the product's website! Seller even copied much of my description word for word (even the only used twice comment).
I have sent a complaint to Ebay. I also went to my photos and re-uploaded them to my auction listing program inserting my user name. Now my pictures with my user name are showing up on his auction listing!

I posted on an Ebay board. I'm being told to replace the current pictures with something else, then rename the one I'm using for my auction. I list all my auctions through Vendio and use their image hosting service. Is there anything I can do through Vendio to fix this situation?

Seller is doing a 3-day auction, so I figure by the time Ebay gets around to doing something about it, the auction will have ended.

Any suggestions/advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi there,

It really depends on whether the image URL was stolen, or whether the user copied the image and uploaded it to their own imagehost. If they stole your URL, you do have the ability to delete the image, rename it, and change the URL in your listings. If they copied the image, however, this will mean waiting for eBay to take action.

In order to avoid this in the future, we recommend utilizing our Image Watermarking feature, which is only $2.95 per month, but will protect your images from being used by someone else.

I hope this helps!

Diana

Thank you for the info, Diana. He did steal the photo from my url (Vendio).
My item has bids already. Am I still able to delete the image, rename it, and change the url? If so, can you give me more info on how to change the url? This is all over my head!
Thanks again!

Hello,

If your item has bids you won't be able to edit the listing so your best bet would be to contact the seller and ask him to stop using your images. If the seller does not listen, we suggest contacting eBay again to let them know you have asked him to stop using your images and he is ignoring you.

Regards,

Sonya
