During last week's image outage I wrote that the previous night, I had about 40 bids worth $500. During the outage, that number dropped to 2 bids worth $11. I had no auctions closing on either night (thank goodness)so it wasn't as if the snipers were raising the totals of one night over the other.
But this time during the outage I have over $1,000 worth of auctions closing. Last night I surpassed $1,000 worth of auctions too, and the snipers boosted my totals by about 40 percent. Now tonight with sporadic photos, based on what I've seen so far, I'll be lucky to realize a 15 percent bump from the snipers.
This can't be coincidence, and that is real money in anybody's pocket.
As I said last time, I can't expect Vendio to wave a magic wand to change the past. But having the same problem occur, only three days after it was declared fixed, merits something more than a curt note on the announcement page about "intermittent inconsistency," with no follow-up about what happened, why, or what was being done to prevent a reoccurance.
When I make a mistake as a seller, I'm on the phone that day with the buyer, follow up with a written note, and negate my profit on that deal with a make-good. While the personal touch isn't particularly practical on a corporate scale, I'm curious to see how Vendio responds this time around.
Vendio has provided great service for a long time, and I'm looking forward to them clearing the air, fixing the problem, and moving ahead.

Dear chrisnich,
Please refer to this thread for information on the image hosting problem last night. The problem experienced last night was totally unrelated to the issue last week. We do make every effort to keep our customers informed about what is happening in the event of a service interruption.
