ORDER 775137119 consists of 5 items according to your combined auctions. The same buyer bought on the same day at the same time 6 items. Why did it fail to add the 6th item? (item number 7322604651)

Also, why does it not show the actual discount given? People don't think they are getting a shipping discount if they can't see it.... it used to be there.

Oh yes, people still complaining about having to check out twice, is there no way the don't have to input their information in out check out?

Hello,

It is possible that either the buyer did not add the 6th item to the order; or, the 6th item was not yet available for checkout.

The shipping discount information is shown during Checkout, on both the Payment and the Confirmation pages.

Repeat buyers can use the "Remember my address for the next time I use this Checkout" functionality.

Thanks,

-Radu

Ok, it would really be nice if technichal support actually checked the auction or listings before giving their suggestions or their reasoning as to why things happened.
My 6 auctions that should have been ended within 1 minute of each other. The last auction that did not combine was really not the last, it ended a minute earlier than one in the combined order. So I suppose the reasoning behind "not available" to combine does not apply.

How come I can't see a shipping discount in the comfirmation page, I only see what I charged in shipping!

I vaguely remember something from a while back about the new checkout system that doesn't seem to be what has happened with it. Didn't you say that the new checkout form would eliminate the need for our customers to enter any of their shipping information if they were going to pay via paypal because if they checked that option it would automatically import the information from paypal/ebay?.....that they would just be taken to the paypal page at the start of checkout?.....the remember me option really is kind of a joke.......the problem with irrate customers is that they have to enter all their information in the first place when they already have it stored in their papal account and don't want to have to go through doing it again. This checkout upgrade has been much less than what I expected.

As far as checking out with paypal I was also curious. So I made a listing and bought it with buy it now with another one of my ebay user id's to see what the new checkout system looked like. I selected that I was paying with paypal and the new checkout system looks to be as easy as checking out in ebay if paying with paypal. I had to enter no information about me, only my prefered shipping/insurance selection and paid with paypal. MUCH EASIER. I'm glad this works because I have previously recieved many complaints about the checkout being so dificult when buyers were paying with paypal and they are accustomed to using the ebay system. They should be MUCH happier now. THANK YOU VENDIO.

As to the problem with the combined shipping, sorry, I have not a clue

Mike

In regard to Mike's comment.....I did not get the same result when I purchased one of my items.....When I initially purchased the item, after the commit to buy button was pushed, the next page has a pay now button....when you click that, there is a screen that says this seller uses Vendio....enter email address to verify you are the buyer....when you do this immediately after buying you get a message that says your email address does not match any in our records.....my customers email me about this all the time.....after I waited a bit, I got the ebay winning bidder notice....when I click the pay now button in it that said click here to arrange payment by PayPal, check or money order which are my payment options.....it did take me to the Vendio checkout screen and my shipping information was there but the ONLY way I could pay was by PayPal......there was no way to pay by check or money order....nothing to click except a button that said Pay Now for your order at PayPal.....what are my check and money order customers supposed to do?.....this will force a PayPal payment and some people don't have PayPal accounts....The same thing happens when you click the link in the Vendio winning bidder email.....there is no mention of payment by check or money order anywhere on the checkout screen even though I have them selected as ways to pay in the auction and it is stated on the ebay winning bidder email. Please advise.

One other thing, there is no way to change the shipping address on the checkout form either. Some of my customers buy things for friends or family and have it shipped to a different address. There is no way to go in and change it on the checkout form. The checkout seems to be set in stone.....only the prefilled address and only payment option is PayPal.....this is incorrect as I stated above, I take personal checks and money order as well.

Ok.....I figured it out......the problems with the checkout were with items that were launched prior to the new checkout changes. I listed a new item and bought it and the system seems to work well....I just have to figure out the combined item discount thing as on some items I use fixed shipping and others calculated.....so I'm not sure what's going to happen when my customers buy a mix of newly listed and previously listed items and/or fixed rate and calculated shipping items. I need to have something checked for ebay to give a discount to?...as there is a statement that said this item does not qualify for discounted shipping and you will have to pay for any other items seperately. I do offer the discount so don't know how I will clear this up now.....

Hello Windycityauctions,

The Checkout Redirect system will also be updated shortly, so that shipping address is indeed imported from eBay.

Discounts are separate for fixed and calculated shipping. With fixed shipping, the discount is based on the Cost when Combined fields. With calculated shipping, the "Combined Shipping" and "Combined Markup" preferences are used to compute the discount. If customers buy a mix of fixed rate and calculated shipping items, the discounts are computed independently for the 2 types of items. For previously listed items, the discount preferences apply.

For repeat customers, the shipping address page is skipped if they checked the "Remember me" option on the previous visit. Even so, the shipping address is shown on the ensuing page with a link to Edit it if necessary, such as in those cases when customers buy for friends.

All payment preferences should be available during Checkout. Customers use radio-buttons to choose between them. If one of your listings did not show all options, please copy here the listing number so that we can investigate further.

Thanks,

-Radu
