HELP PLEASE I'M GOING CRAZY!
Suddenly with in the last month I'm being sent e-mails from about 85% of the winning bidders asking me to "Please send me the total amount for my item". These e-mails are generated from the Ebay site. Once the auction has closed a window is displayed to the winning bidder that they have won and to click here to request a total. Because this window is from Ebay, the buyers feel that they have to click on this request, so they do. Some of them then will go to the Vendio checkout.
Each of my auctions have flat rate shipping charges that are clearly displayed in the auction. I use the vendio checkout which is also explained clearly with in the auction for the benefit of the bidder.
The problem is not in the auctions descriptions nor as best I can tell in the checkout since I have changed nothing. And these e-mails where coming in before the enhancements were made by vendio. So I contacted Ebay to see if they had changed something.
Here is what Ebay told me, "my shipping and payment details on the listing page says, " Services available Check item description and payment instructions or contact seller for details." The request Total option will appear on the buyers side when the auction ends, since I indicated to contact seller for detail. This is a new feature and if the seller has not indicated a shipping checkout, The Request total on the buyers side will appear."
I was told to change my settings on page 4 of the sell your item form. That I should add the shipping calculator, or a flat rate amount. When I told them that I'm using a Vendio and that I do not use the Ebay auction creation features, I was told to contact Vendio a see if they can integrate the shipping section page into my auction listings. Other wise I will need to manually change each auction listing.
So my question is, Can Vendio help me integrate the shipping section (page 4)?
Please help me as soon as possible. I really don't have a clue as to what they are talking about and I don't want to screw things up worst. These e-mails are starting to be a real pain.

I cant be sure but this works when I make a listing using the new system. If I am going to specify a flat rate shipping fee, when I make the listing In the shipping section I select "I am specifying shipping detail's for ebay" and then you can select either flat rate or calculated, select flat rate. Then select your carrier and then the fee you charge. Check my auction, ebay number 7975849655. You will note at the top of the page where the listing details are in the shipping cost column it states "US $12.50 - Other (see description) (within United States)".
It took me a while with the new system to figure out how to do this, but it looks like I finally figured it out Another thing I do in multiple locations in my listing is to clearly state I DO NOT USE EBAY'S CHECKOUT SYSTEM. I make clear mention of this and that I use Vendio checkout and that the buyer should either follow the directions in the winning bidders notice sent from vendio or if they do not recieve this email (due to spam filters) that they can click on the yellow vendio checkout icon in the listing. Also make sure you have ebay checkout redirect set in your preferences in your My Account setting's.
Hope this helps, we are all trying to figure out how to use the new system.

Hello Mike,
Thanks for your input, but I'm still lost.
Here is one of my current auctions for reference, 4382885657.
I'm using "Sales Manager Pro" to create my auctions and upload onto Ebay. I don't see the opportunity to select "I am specifying shipping detail's for ebay" in the shipping section. Are you creating your auctions on line rather then with the "Sales Manager Pro" program?
Where can I find the ebay checkout redirect setting preferences in your My Account setting's? Are you talking about Vendios site or Ebays? Because I can't find it on Vendios.
Checkout Redirect can be enabled/disabled in My Account > Post Sale Management Options. All of your preferences for shipping are to be set online. Other options for shipping and handlng can be set in My Account > Global Preferences. If you continue to have trouble please do let us know so we can troubleshoot your settings.

Hello Sonya,
In the "My Account: Post Sale Management Preferences" I currently have the "Include the Vendio Checkout button and my Preferred Checkout Instructions in my auction listings by default." and the "Display the yellow Preferred Checkout panel after my eBay auctions close." boxes checked but not the "Use eBay Checkout Redirect" box. Do I need to check the "Use eBay Checkout Redirect" box in order to by pass the Ebay check out system totally?
What is the ebay pay now button that the redirect memo mentions?
"eBay Checkout Redirect drives buyers clicking the top eBay Pay Now> button through your Vendio Checkout after two pages of eBay confirmation, so fewer buyers will bypass your Vendio Checkout."
In Global Preferences, I'm given differant options, but each item I sell has a differant shipping cost and the carriers are differant. How do I tag the differant cost and carriers to the differant items? As I'm currently using SMP, which allows me to assign differant cost and carriers for each item. Will changing the shipping on the Global Preferences change all of the listings to the same carrier and cost?
Should I be creating my listing on line rather then with SMP? Maybe recreate all of my listing on line?
To bypass eBay checkout, you will want to enable Checkout Redirect.
The eBay Pay Now button is what shows at the top of the listing when someone is logged into eBay and they are viewing something they won. It is also sometimes present in eBay end of auction notices.
What is in Global Preferences is simply a default, and can be changed on a per item bases. The changes we released to preferences aren't yet available for Sales Manager Pro so you might want to try listing onine if you aren't so dependent on Pro, just so you can use all the new features unil its available in Sales Manager Pro.
However you can always create offline, schedule them and synch a batch, then unschedule each item once its in your Vendio account and edit them to put in new settings not yet available for Pro.

Hello Curtis,
If you are using Sales Manger Pro and have only one shipping option per item, you can enter the eBay checkout shipping information in SM Pro's "eBay Site Information" tab. Please click on the "Payment Instructions & Details" button, check "I am specifying payment details" and enter the values for "U.S. Shipping & Handling" and the other fields.
To make data entry easier, you might want to make these changes in SM Pro's default profile, which you can reach by clicking Edit > Profile Manager > Default Profile in the SM Pro menu.
Please note though that, if costs are different per item, you will need to enter them twice, once in the shipping fields in the "Basic Information" tab and once in the "Payment Instructions & Details" pop-up.

Thank you all very much for your help.
I've listed two test auctions using different settings and I think I've got a handle on it now.
I'll be creating auctions on line from now on, which makes sense so that I cross promote items in my store (just learned how to do that while solving this problem).
Vendio....Do they make a better Auction Manager site? I don't think so.
